Interesting. The first part I don't get at all, or I don't think it's possible. I can't imagine a dog committing suicide like that, I wouldn't have thought a connection between discontent and self descruction could be made by non-human animals. Not to underestimate animal intelligence, just that those things are really human, that animals can and do self destrcut to protect their offspring makes sense, to do it because of whatever the animal equivalent of depression is, seems counter-evolutionary.

The ideas about human suicide make a lot of sense though. It's certainly intriguing, I'm a bit lost with it though.
