Pet stories/pics

I can't see an appropriate place for it, so I'll do it here, but I just think it would be nice to read a bit about QOLer's beloved pets.
I have Sammy and Delilah, my two gorgeous cats. Delilah is in my avvy and is toroiseshell, beautiful and VERY loving. She kisses my chin and even cleans it sometimes ( there is a goatee there) and she will always come to me when I call her, and will stay in almost any postion I put her in. She has a really sweet high pitched voice that she never uses except sometimes when I'm in the next room, but she doesput her nose into everything that happens.
Sammy is all black and he is nowhere near as tactile, it took months for him to get all four legs on to my lap and fall asleep, before that, he always seemed a little unsure. Now that he lets me stroke him more, Delilah gets a little jealous, and usually tries to disrupt it by picking a fight with Sammy's tail, even if she doesn't want to be stroked herself.
Sammy is always trying to get Delilah to mate with him, but poor Delilah just thinks he wants to play fight, so that's what they always end up doing, and it's great to watch them play, and it's lovely to see them fall asleep with one of their heads on the others back, after Delilah has spent five minutes cleaning out Sammy's ears.
I live in a high rise, so they are both indoor cats, and so I'm gonna let Delilah have one litter then, (whisper) I'll get Sammy 'done'. sshhh, don't tell him, please. I think it's only right that a female dog/cat gets to have at least one litter as it helps the animal 'grow up' in a way.
We used to have a Yorkshire Terrier and she lived for sixteen years without a pregnancy ( despite efforts) and yet you could tell she wanted to because of her 'motherly' nature towards other animals.
Any hoo, hope I ain't bored too many peeps, but I'd love to hear some other tales.

Better suited to Fried Chicken I reckon.

We have a cat called Georgie who has recently got to the grand age of 17. When I am day off I have a routine. I get up and make a mug of tea, put Radio 2 on via the Sky service and sit down to read my paper. Within seconds Georgie is on my knee and remains there for as long as she cares.

There is a pic of her somewhere on this board. God knows where though.

I have 9 cats, none of them are named... ooops! :P

This is Nico. Nico has 3 legs as one of the rear legs was partially missing at birth or shortly thereafter. He has decided I am his property and woe be it to any cat that gets on the bed if I am on it too.

Felix (on the left) and his older sister, Zoey (my precious), taken with the phone camera. Felix also only has 3 legs and is Nico's brother from the same litter.

well, Sammy IS short for Samson, but I never use his full name as I feel a bit silly having used the name in the 1st place. I am happy with Sammy tho, cos I grew up with a next door neighbour who had a long-lived cat called Sam. Also, my (then) GF and I had a cat called Delilah back in'94 (and it was she who named the cat) but the poor dear had leukemia and died at age one, so my current Delilah is REALLY named after her, with the song being more of a coincindence.
Oh, and no-one argues religion in my household, as it is a banned subject..

Haha, I just discovered a great temporary toy, I have trapped a house fly in an old Nutella jar ( the ones with a sealed lid) and it's kept both of them going for half an hour so far...

I know if they get the lid off one of 'em will eat the dirty thing.

I'm real glad to see at least one pic of dogs there, tho everyone's cats ( and the dogs) are proper cuties. But that cat in the avvy has to be one of the freakiest things I've seen in a while, it's like a CGI horror film clip. lol
My Sammy loves to watch the tv too, but Delilah only notices when there are animals on screen, then she tries to 'get' them.

Yes. Put [img] then the url to the photo here, like this.. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3059/272 ... 8f5aa7.jpg

then right up against the end put [/img] and it should work.
