Not sure if this belonged to Freddie so can't comment too much on that.

Not sure on the year or condition of the Hofner either.

I'd hazard a guess at maybe (year depending) the Hofner worth £1000????

So whether its worth the rest of the money (considering its not really sononomous with Freddie) is slightly doubtful.

EDIT: The fact that its listed on the guitar site for £4995 and then listed on eil.com for £3250 seems dubious.

what was a guitar to freddie anyway, merely a prop. I don't think this is really a freddie item, it might have been stored in freddies house but I cant se him strumming away on this in his livingroom with 3 cats running over his chipe and dale suite.

What I would pay for is the AKG414 microphone he recorded with to made in heaven.....

It is important to have a proper laugh once in a while, freddie seemingly laughed alot and was a humorous person so I'll try and follow in his footsteps in yet another trade.

didn't he have a wonderful sense of humor?

Ha! You're right. He did have a great sense of humor. Sorry, I am an antique dealer, although I've never sold furniture before, only pottery, glassware and jewelry and my mother was the one who BOUGHT all the furniture. Ha ha! :-)

I wouldn't necessarily brand it as a fake, but the article written is possibly a tad misleading.

You probably won't ever see a photograph of Freddie playing it at a gig. To my knowledge, he only ever used an Ovation round backed 12-string, or his white Telecaster, which went went mysteriously missing from Queen's lock-up, (we think) soon after Freddie died.

I've talked to a friend of mine, who lived and worked with Freddie for a number of years and he doesn't remember ever seeing this particular guitar, but that doesn't mean Freddie didn't sign the guitar for Kenny, or that this part of the story is untrue. It's just not as "an important item to the history of rock n roll" as our friends at the "ei-i-daddio" website are painting it out to be. No f*cking surprises there though, is there? I've always said, that place is for the 'Queen collector extrordinaire' who doesn't have to worry about where the money to repaint his yacht parked up in Monaco, is coming from.
