Over here, you have to quit the church, otherwise you continue to pay church tax, which Hitler introduced in 1939. It's 1.1% of your annual income, so quite a lot, really!

Jesus. I'm surprised people are only just quitting now!

You have to pay Austria a tax to belong to a church? How bizarre!

I guess that's something that your First Amendment protects you from. We certainly used to have taxes like that, but haven't had them for quite a long time. That said, churches get tax breaks.

But then you've got "In God We Trust" on your money. I still don't understand how that isn't a blatant breach of the First Amendment.

No, the money goes directly to the church.

I've just read up on the stats.

The RCC gets 1.1%.
The Protestant church gets 1.5%.

All in all, the Christian church organisations get 375 million Euros a year through church tax.

And I bet they're tax exempt as well?

In all seriousness, hasn't this got really serious now. Dont these cover-ups make these people as guilty as those who commited the offences? How do these guys sleep at night? How can a church justify that those who claim to give moral guidance have no morals themselves?

It sickens me to the core. The leadership of the Catholic church is riddled with people who helped peadophiles commit their evil crimes. This church really has no moral standing left has it?

About 8 years ago I read some bullshit about either the Bible Code or Nostradamus - one of the two. Absolutely bollocks, obviously.
But!!! It predicted that the next Pope would be the Anti-Christ. And this was 8 years ago!

Burn him.
