Re: The guilty pleasure thread...

I think it's hilarious how this topic turned into a candle discussion. lol I was hoping to read some dirty little secrets. ;) I agree with Wee on this one. I like all sorts of “guilty pleasures” but I don’t feel bad about it. Love the Carpenters, Gordon Lightfoot, and ABBA. I’m a fan of mellow 70s ...

Re: Lady Gaga Thread

I'm not surprised the album has been doing very well. It's well crafted. I'm also thankful that Lady Gaga has been able to hold onto her throne for this long. It's been 12 years already since The Fame. Crazy!! If you're like me and you enjoy looking at pictures of her, this is a great website: https...

Game of Thrones.

Brilliant series. Just started it recently.
Thought it was amazing until they got ahead of the books, then it got substantially less good.
So I've heard. I'm a bit nervous about that. Because so far everything has been such high quality. Starting season 6 later today.

Re: A Kind of Magic!

What? Absolutely nothing on Mr Bad Guy? Made In Heaven, There Must Be More To Life Than This, Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow. Sometimes, I just think Fred went a gnat's too far. The intro to Hard Life, the outro to Great Pretender. Just like action thinks Play The Game is better without the intro...

Re: Could Brian's recent health issues be the end of Q+AL?

I'm very concerned too. But Brian has been through rough patches before and persevered. I believe in him. Heart attacks are very hard to go through and the recovery time isn't easy. I've known extended family who had "small" heart attacks, and they were never the same after. Even climbing stairs ex...

Re: Flash Gordon 40th Anniversary Release.

There's a documentary on Amazon called "life after flash", which claims to follow Sam Jones' later career. It does that to an extent, but there's a fair bit of "making of" the film, including on set interviews with many of the actors, and retrospective ones with Blessed , O'Brien, and Er... Duncan ...

It has it's moments, that's for sure. One of the few series, of that sirt of length, that's rivetting all the way through.
Absolutely. It's the first series I've watched where no one character feels safe. There are times my jaw is on the floor.

Re: Queen songs you feel differently about...

I like ‘Mustapha’. It’s different, that’s why I think it’s more of an early Queen style song. I think it makes a good opener for Jazz because it sounds like nothing else on the record and sets the listener up for an album of surprises (it did for me anyway). I agree with you about Mustapha being mu...
