Re: Mr Bad Guy - favourite version?

Yeah real ones should have "CDCBS 86312 MPO" and then another single number after it. Sometimes bootleggers do make very good copies. I tried to trade one of my genuine MPO pressings for something else with a dealer, and he tried telling me that mine was a bootleg, just so he could get it cheaper. ...

Re: Mr Bad Guy - favourite version?

Look where the matrix number is stamped on the central silver bit of the disc. Is MPO stamped in the same typeface as the matrix number, probably about 1.5mm in size? See photo below, and expand it. That's a real one. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=mr+bad+guy+mpo&prmd=isnv&sxsrf=ALeKk03Le1CTxprh...

Re: Mr Bad Guy - favourite version?

At the time, Sony hadnt set up their factory at DADO in Austria, EMI, didn't have a factory in Europe either. Sony licence pressed their discs through MPO, or shipped them from Sony in Japan, at a much higher cost to them. MPO, as you say, is a French company. ALL European copies were made by them....

Re: Mr Bad Guy - favourite version?

why was there a cd released in france of all places, but not in the UK?

freddies first solo album, wasn't that a big deal in the UK?

a couple of months later: live aid. Why no second print to tape into the success of live aid?

again: france, of all places

Re: A Kind of Magic!

this is a reoccuring thing with the album. One vision and AKOM also stemmed from the same idea. They did the same kind of thing on The Works - Radio Ga Ga and Machines sprouted from the same idea. yes but were they at one time also the same song, like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEqiBCtNj-s

Re: A Kind of Magic!

I always found that POTF has an annoying chorus, before I could understand english correctly  In POTU, always waiting for that crazy guitar solo in the middle :p Actually this track is really original (POTU), unlike anything Freddie had written before, right? I wouldn't say "never" done before...
