Re: The Miracle Box set

Well, quite. I used to be a fully paid of member of Bowienet, and that was exciting while Sailor himself would traverse the boards, interjecting here and there. I wish I had screencaps of the few times I interacted with him... closest I ever got to the Thin White Duke! Nowadays, the forum is long go...

Re: Restructuring The Works

Personally, I feel there's a hint of a 'concept album' across the existing record, about Man vs Machine, which could've been explored more. And for years, I thought I'd push for that approach, making 'Machines (or Back to Humans)' the focal point of the album... and emphasising the fight between the...

Restructuring The Works

Well, it's been almost a year since the Hot Space discussion and that proved pretty popular so... The Works is a frustrating album in many ways. Some would argue it's a rehash of former glories. Some complain about the way its entire tracklisting was pillaged for the single A/B-sides leaving nothing...

Re: Greatest Hits

At the time the GVH titles were released, there was a huge push away from the 4:3 aspect ratio. Digital television was really taking off, more and more shows were switching to widescreen, and anything still in 4:3 felt 'old' and, much like when the BBC adopted colour in the 70s and looked at its bla...

Re: The Miracle Box set

Sometimes it's better to not have some inside information...if in the end it doesn't really comes to fruition. I remember not being nearly as well-informed as today when "Queen Rock Montreal" came out back then - I just walked into a store and there it suddenly was, that moment of surprise was wond...

Re: Greatest Hits

I had hoped that the move to Universal in 2011 would have resulted in two things that never happened. 1. A complete music video collection on DVD and Blu-Ray, where possible using re-scanned, HD film elements, and professionally upscaled SD video where not. I still think this could happen, but also ...

Re: The Miracle Box set

75 pages for a product we basically know pretty much nothing about yet, congratulations all! I wait for the official announcement, look what we actually get and then decide if it's something to get excited about. ;) You should've seen the Anthology discussions on here circa 2000-2005... til w...

Re: Jazz - Queen's Most Underrated Album?

All true... but we should never conflate success and popularity with quality. And I genuinely believe Jazz is underrated. Certainly in the last decade it's been the album I turn to most for pure entertainment.

Re: Greatest Hits

While it's certainly a niche market, there's definitely scope for a full set of Queen studio albums being reissued on cassette. I doubt I'd buy them myself, but they'd do enough business on them to justify it, I reckon! Really? Something like 150,000 cassettes sold last year in the UK, and you thin...
