Re: Musicians, artists and famous people who have passed away

I can’t remember the full details but does anyone remember when Brian May briefly flirted with an anti-vax organisation (this was 10+ years ago, before it was cool to be anti-vax), but then as soon as the science was pointed out to him he immediately backed down?

I miss those days

Re: The Beatles - Get Back

Episode 2, 2:15.00 and onward for about 6 minutes They’re talking about Rishikesh If you understand the full context, it’s pretty obvious George is getting really pissed off with John and Paul’s attitude, and then at one point even lashes out, but everyone assumes he’s having a go at the Maharishi w...

Re: Why do people collect Queen?

It’s a question worth asking. I suspect for a lot of people it’s a sunk cost thing. You’ve managed to stay up to date since 1973 so of course you have to buy the latest product. The reason has become nearly 50 years disconnected from the initial motivation. But that’s true of so much of what we do. ...

Re: In The News Today...

For a virus (or other pathogen) to be a genuine existential threat it would have to kill the majority of its hosts whilst also still being able to spread to new ones. We could face a virus that kills, say, 20% of infected people, but I think that once you start to go beyond that the national select...

Re: In The News Today...

I took a Tesla for a test drive the other week. Let me first say I was very scared 0-94 kmh in just over 2.5 secs. My objection is the price 60k AUD for entry level model. A change in government next year will change that. You do know that eventually, with more uptake, they will use more and more r...

Re: In The News Today...

Remember, you can actually charge them at home. This is the point Leigh is making - if you live on a terraced street and are unable to park outside your home, you have no chance. Added to this is the issue of cables trailing across the pavement. If you live in a block of flats, forget it. I live in...

Re: In The News Today...

I couldn’t find the thread where someone said electric planes won’t happen

They’ve happened

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-d ... e-59359263

Long ways to go yet, but we’ve hopefully got millions of years as a species!

Exciting!
