Re: Favourite Deacy track

It’s near impossible to pick a favourite Deacy song. Every track I’ve heard I’ve liked immediately on the first note. Had John written more perhaps there might be a few not-quite-so-good songs (or maybe not!) but if he’d released a solo album it would be the best :D Each member has a distinctive son...

Re: Deacy or Deaky

I'm sure I read somewhere that Brian says "Deacy" but Roger says "Deaky".

Re: Deacy Bass Solos

I’ve never really thought of Queen as a solo kind of band for any instrument. Brian doesn’t let his guitar solos become unnecessary and Roger isn’t as self-indulgent on the drums as he could be. I adore the fast version of ‘We Will Rock You’ and especially the little Deacy solo! In any other band by...

Re: John would've quit Queen anyway according to Roger

I don’t believe John would have gone into the music business had it not been for meeting Queen. I think he probably felt comfortable enough with them to pursue a musical career seriously because they were welcoming in a way that no other band could have been. The relationship between the four of the...

Re: Deacy or Deaky

I can't help preferring "Deacy" because there is no K in Deacon! :)

Re: Happy Birthday John

Happy Birthday, John! Many happy returns to (dare I say it) Queen's best songwriter! :D I love Neil and Tyler's little tribute to Deacy. I'm really impressed with them. All their covers so far have been just about perfect, better than most people's efforts at attempting Queen songs. The vocals are e...

Re: Queen Cover Songs

Travis did a cover of ‘Killer Queen’ which I think is rather good - https://youtu.be/dYOmNiqGlDA Singing Queen is something only a few people can do successfully. You don’t have to sound like Freddie, just be able to sing as easily as he does and I think Fran Healy does a great job. Travis recorded ...
