Re: Jazz - Queen's Most Underrated Album?
Thinking about it, only Let Me Entertain You and I suppose Fat Bottomed Girls stayed in the set for more than one trip round the world. That's on a par with Hot Space.

Re: Jazz - Queen's Most Underrated Album?
Obviously, as Queen's music became more mainstream and commercial — catchy, direct and accessible — so they appealed to a wider audience and their worldwide popularity grew. Genesis followed a similar path after their breakthrough hit Follow You Follow Me early in 1978. Compared to 1976–77, both ban...

Re: Jazz - Queen's Most Underrated Album?
I have just listened to Jazz — with headphones — about ten times in as many days. I haven't focused on the album this intently or intensely for probably forty years. For a lot of that time I relied on a copy of the 1994 reissue played on a cheap CD player that is itself now twenty years old. This ti...

Re: Jazz - Queen's Most Underrated Album?
On the other song, if "I" was to rate "Fun It" up against "Another One Bites The Dust", I'd at least put it on a par, because to me, often the pioneers are more important than those who come along and refine a "first", and in terms of Queen doing a funk based disco song, Fun It was about 18 months ...

Re: Jazz - Queen's Most Underrated Album?
It's funny how some things appeal to some people, and not to others. Personally, I'd rate both Fun It, and More Of That Jazz as two of Roger's better Queen songs. I would agree that the montage at the end of More Of That Jazz is unneccessary, though. A bit like the one at the end of the 12" mix of ...

Re: Jazz - Queen's Most Underrated Album?
I love the album but, honestly, Roger's tracks are shit. I agree that Fun It and More of That Jazz are two of Roger's weaker songs, though at least some of that is due to the overall sound of the Jazz album, in my opinion. There are no excuses for the mash-up at the end of More of That Jazz, though...

Re: Future Queen Live Release: Live Killers/Paris 1979 on DVD/Blu-ray
I believe that the show Brian may be referring to is this one: https://www.queenlive.ca/queen/70-08-23.htm He talked about playing to selective people and providing refreshments themselves. I suspect that it may have been recorded by John Harris as it's been rumoured before that he taped early Quee...

Re: Future Queen Live Release: Live Killers/Paris 1979 on DVD/Blu-ray
These days I work on the assumption that there will be one major release a year, probably in the autumn. It is live stuff that really floats my boat. The Miracle box set seems a reasonable bet for 2021, which would push any live release back to 2022 at the earliest. I also assume that any Q+AL relea...

Re: ‘Lost Opportunity’
I am struggling to connect it to See What a Fool I've Been, but maybe that's because I am not a blues fan and Brian's awesome guitars on See What a Fool put it in the hard rock category for me. Lost Opportunity's nearest relation is surely Nothin' But Blue, which was presumably written at the same s...

Re: Jazz - Queen's Most Underrated Album?
Their longest album of the pre-CD era. Thirteen tracks — at least one too many. An obvious opportunity missed for a non-album b-side. Growing up in the late-1970s, I always thought of Seven Seas of Rhye as the must-have collectible because it had See What a Fool I've Been on the b-side. I always fel...
