Ah, sterling roses. Every time I see the bushes at a gardening shop I think about planting one.

Icy, I just spent twenty minutes on the old archive board and I'm sorry, I wasn't able to find that particular post, not even on the 'Cancer' thread Zeph started to talk about her illness. I used my tried and true method, a "spider search" incorporating six words from your quote, but it returned nothing. One of the few times it has produced no results at all. (And ouch! running across Emma's two posts in that thread was difficult.)

I've often wondered how we look to God to actively enter our lives. And more and more I believe that God chooses to enter the world today through others, through us. We have stories of miraculous interventions or lightning-bolt moments, but more often the God of unconditional love comes to us in human form, just as he did 2000 years ago. He enters the world through us, and how we are with one another in that suffering and dying makes all the difference. Suffering isolates us, but loving presence brings us back to belonging. Someone once described mercy as “entering into the chaos of another.” It's not easy to be with people who suffer, to enter into the chaos of others. Yet when I do so it becomes a gift to me, because I am pulled out of myself to be love’s presence to someone else, just as they are love’s presence to me.

Wasn't it in some thread where they discussed bullying?

Thanks Missy :bigups:.
I think it was in a now deleted thread of mine where guests can't see. If I could get to my old PM's over there I'd know for sure, as Zephie and and I PM'd each other for a while. Zephie's outlook was amazing, I did not realise how truly ill she was, because she carried on as before. That's harder to do than some might think. I still remember getting the news she died in a phone call( I wasn't posting at the time) and shock and sadness don't cover how I felt.
I love your last paragraph, I read it before logging on, good thing as it made me cry (in a good way).

I think about Zephie a lot. She really became like an inspiration to me. She was so sweet, such a joy to chat with & get to know. She was one of the first people who talked to me here, and made me feel welcome. When I read about her illness it just broke my heart.. Still does now, especially reading some of her old posts. Her outlook was amazing. She was such a positive person through all of it, and so young. Truly an inspiring individual, whom I will always remember.

Hugs for you, Zeph.

Got the news today that the wife of a guy who delivered flowers for us has passed away. She wasn't even 40. Curse you, cancer. :(

Gosh, that's horrible, Amy. It's hard on kids to lose their mother so young.
