Days Of Our Lives video still moves me after all these years

I saw this video again recently on Youtube after many years and man, it was like I was peeling very strong onions! I first saw the rough cut video in 1991 when UK tv did a quickly prepared documentary shown a few days after Freddie's death. Back then it was widely suspected that Freddie had AIDS, and as his appearance grew more gaunt I think we all knew the inevitable was coming, so it wasn't a total shock.

There's the added emotional impact of it being recorded so long ago now, that I'm pretty much at the point of writing a song about the innocence of childhood, if I could. So yeah Roger, I can relate to the song more than ever now.

I personally don't like version with the animation showing it as a teen love story though. Probably done for commercial reasons to appeal more to the MTV crowd, but at least we still have the original video simply showing the band doing their last video, and of course Freddie's final goodbye "I still love you...."

Quite simply, an incredible song and video
