happiness is his most enjoyable. a relaxing, fine album. not a bad song on it.
electric fire is mentioned a lot, but I find that one too "busy". it wears me down quickly.
Favorite Roger Taylor Album
Re: Favorite Roger Taylor Album
I'm surprised there isn't more love for Fun On Earth. It's not my favorite, but I think it's a solid album with some great tracks on it.
Re: Favorite Roger Taylor Album
And I think therein lies your answer!
It may be great, but nobody's #1 favourite ... and with the ability to only choose one option, the others have gotten more votes!
Personally, I like them all, although Brian's solo work resonates with me so much more, but Happiness? gets my vote, if for no other reason than for 'Foreign Sand'. It more than makes up for 'Nazis 1994'!

Re: Favorite Roger Taylor Album
Sorry that's a long text
I think that all 3 albums of The Cross are great.
All three of them have such a different style from each other.
"Shove it" is a lot of fun, all the album is a bit a la "Invisible man".
"MB&DtKnow" is great also.... but I usually skip Better things.... although it's not bad.
'Liar' is a favourite from that album.
Blue Rock is great....specially the first half.
(I don't know, I get bored after Millionaire)
I thought that overall, The Cross albums showed another side of Roger.
And I think that he's better when he has a band behind him.
That's why Electric Fire is also so great.
I'm writing this because I thought that The Cross albums are sometimes better than his solo stuff, and am curious about your opinions.
That's probably personal taste, but I never come back to Fun in Space or Strange Frontier... I rather come back to The Cross, and to Electric Fire and Fun on Earth.
On the list of favourite Roger solo work, I'd put a list like this, from favourite to least favourite:
(Maybe I interchange some preferences overtime):
Fun on earth
Blue Rock
Electric Fire
Shove it
Hapiness
MadBad&Dangeroustoknow
Fun in Space
Strange Frontier
That order is ""how often I come back to listen to it"", or ""how it grows on me"", opposed to ""how fast I get bored of it"".
What are for you the most entertaining Roger's albums?
I think The Cross albums are so great, even better than some solo stuff.
And I think that Blue Rock is the one that rocks the most.

Re: Favorite Roger Taylor Album
I do think you have a point that Roger is strongest when he's with a band. But still, he's pretty remarkable all by his lonesome too. I've always admired him for it.

Fun In Space
"Interlude In Constantinople" easily segues into "Machines (Back To Human)" and overall any "Fun In Space" song would've been better than "Man On The Prowl"
