Freddie Lovers

Postby KNIGHT » Sat Apr 28, 2018 5:29 pm

Because of Bohemian Rhapsody (film) I started thinking how they will approach Freddie's life, especially about his love life.

So, I remembered a documentary about Freddie lovers, and here it is, Freddie lovers:

Mary Austin 1970-1976
David "Dyllis" Minns 1975-1978
Joe "Liza" Fanelli 1978-1979
Vince 1979
Thor "PP" Arnold 1980
Nikolai Grishanovitch early 80'
Bill Reid 1982
Barbara Valentin 1983-1985
Winnie Kirchburger 1983-1985
Jim Hutton 1985-1991

This is just fo fun.....nothing else.

Don't forget Tony Bastin 1979-82 (died 1986) was quite important in Freddie's life.

AFAIK there's little to no evidence that Barbara Valentin was involved as such with Freddie. Her own accounts on the matter are extremely odd and make little sense. Possibly later in life she had some mental health issues, but then the likes of Lesley Ann Jones egged her on anyway, just to add some spice to her terrible Queen biographies.

Phoebe for one has stated outright that they were never lovers and he knew a LOT about Freddie's love life.

Ok.
I didn't know about him.

So, it changes to this:
Mary Austin 1970-1976
David "Dyllis" Minns 1975-1978
Joe "Liza" Fanelli 1978-1979
Vince 1979
Tony Bastin 1979-82
Thor "PP" Arnold 1980
Nikolai Grishanovitch early 80'
Bill Reid 1982
Barbara Valentin 1983-1985 maybe?!?!?!
Winnie Kirchburger 1983-1985
Jim Hutton 1985-1991

It is quite hard imagine talking about the life of Freddie without talking about is love life. I'm very interested how they will work around this in the new movie.

I think Mary will be the focus of Freddie's intimate relationships in the film.
I don't think I need to see a list of Freddie's lovers though or the possibility of actors playing them in the film.

Interesting speculation. I don’t see the film going into details on this topic though. But since I just mentioned Adam Lambert’s possible cameo in another thread (we saw a picture), I remember him saying, that he would like to play one of Freddie’s lovers. I thought, he was just joking, but IF the film shows more than Mary and Jim... maybe some smooching in a dark corner?

And no, I hope not. I know, a part of The Queen fandom would rip Adam apart... But it would be fun!

I found it! I don’t know, if Adam was serious and it’s old now. But it seems he wanted to play one of Freddie’s lovers. So be prepared  .

Humour doesn't translate well in written interviews but my guess is he was joking.
