and you were correct. Regular DVD Deluxe is up and on sale at Amazon. Order placed. :onfire:

This thread should be renamed to: "Queen in Budapest 1986 - Blu-ray/DVD/CD on 6 November 2012"

I'm not so sure it should.

You websearch ''Queen Live In Budapest 1986' and 'Hungarian Rhapsody' might slip completely past the radar.

I'm not so sure they should be renaming stuff quite as radically as they are. Why NOT call it Queen Live In Budapest 1986, that's what it is, and that's what it's always been called up to now.

Wellll I guess it does help to distinguish concerts from other concerts PLUS it makes it more official as afer to a bootleg.

Still no listings in the UK apart from the one below on Amazon which only has listed the Bluray/CD and the DVD/CD....and at ridiculous high prices.

Looks like it's going down. It was at 35 only yesterday :-)

Maybe it's a case of 'nipping down to your local record store' as it will be cheaper - as was the Barcelona 4CD album a few weeks back.

Surely we're now overdue an official press release for the Bluray/DVD release of this, looks like this will be totally overshadowed by the Zepplin release especially as that DVD is being promoted properly!!

What's the obsession with press releases? This is just a re-issue of something any Queen fans has had for years and years, on a different format. Big wow. You could try and market it to death, and it still wouldn't sell that well. Of course the Zeppelin release with complete overshadow it - why wouldn't it!? Aside from the fact that Zeppelin release is actual new product that is getting fans excited, there's far more interest in Led Zeppelin releases than Queen in general.

It's not getting a UK release according to Eagle Rock, I phoned them a few weeks back. They stated they are only dealing with the yet to be announced UK TV transmission.
It looks like the US Blu ray release is region A, so not much point in ordering that if in the UK. :(
Perhaps it will hopefully turn out to be region free.

The problem with this release is that QPL never managed to track down the lost footage, if that was to ever surface this would definately be a major Queen release, remember this is the last Queen show professionally filmed with Freddie and the first major outdoor concert behind the iron curtain. Yes the show is readily available but only on VHS, I would presume alot of Queen fans will be happy to upgrade this show to Bluray / DVD. I will be very suprised if this doesn't get a UK/European release, I can see no reason why not to release this over here, plus there is usually some kind of release to cash in on the Christmas market.

I agree the Zepplin release is more appealing but when or if Rhys gets his way and we get the Bob Harris footage from 1977 released with a 70's show, something Queen fans would be drooling over would we get a press conference or a west end premiere, major press coverage? I doubt it :-(

According to the press release it's getting a worldwide release:

“Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest” is a must–see concert experience by legends of rock, Queen, and now comes to DVD and Blu-ray. It will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray, 2CD and DVD Deluxe Edition and a 2CD and Blu-ray Deluxe Edition on November 5th worldwide.

Eagle Rock has taken over the North American side of Queen Video (DVD/BluRay) distribution from Hollywood....so I doubt they would know anything about the UK and other releases...Although maybe I misunderstood...

Yeah, as far as the rest of the world outside the US and Canada is concerned Eagle are handling The Great Pretender, but Universal are doing Budapest.

Its a complete debacle to be honest, its released in just over 2 weeks and apart from those listed on Amazon (which is only the box sets which include the CD's - where are the standard Bluray and DVD releases?) it nowhere to be seen.

Its pathetic marketing.
