I gotta be honest, my interest in this has really nosedived since Cohen left. I didn't even think that would be the case, but it has. I feel like it would've been a far more interesting production with him involved.

I feel the opposite: I just think he would have been Sacha Baron Cohen playing Freddie instead of an actor who really embodied Freddie - I just do not think he would have been believable; and I get the feeling he would not have been as respectful as I would like.

My issues are more with the script and how it is going to be directed. If the story is going to be as shallow as a puddle and over-sanitised (which I suspect it will) then I think it will be a major fail.

I have a mixture of excitement and fear regarding this whole project.

Bryan Singer projects:
Usual Suspects - Low budget crime noir brilliance.
X Men, more X Men, and even more X Men, mega-successful, mega-loved mega-franchise.
House - Biggest network tv show for several years, turned "some guy" from Blackadder in to the highest paid actor on TV.

Jack the Giant Slayer - Heaven's Gate style gargantuan flop.

I'm sure he'll do an amazing job. Don't worry. Let's just hope he sees a good therapist for the Jack the Career Slayer fiasco.

That Adam quote is from December so I'm sure he was talking about the tour they announced in January.

It says "Queen biopic". It went from a "Freddie Mercury biopic" to this. I think we know what that means. Brian and Roger will whitewash and polish it until it's nothing more than a infomercial/music video about the band. Their crap Queen + endeavors along with the WWRY musical and Queen Extravaganza are already daft to the extreme. Can they do something even more lame? Here's their chance.

Queen is by far my favorite band but I will wait for reviews before going to see this flick. I am quite confident it's going to be a joke. A movie about Freddie would be very interesting. Too bad the egos of Brian and Roger ruined that concept. It will flop UNLESS it includes personal storylines on the individual members. Maybe the soundtrack will have some surprises.

Reviews? Luckily you didnt use that strategy when it came to Queen's records.

Seems like things are happening now. But do we really believe in a 2018 premiere? How long does it take from they start shooting the movie until release? To me that sounds like a time consuming process. And we have not heard Brian and Roger talking a lot about it recently. I also expect to see more of the cast om imdn.com soon. So far we only know that Malek is playing Freddie. Things must start to happen now.
