Depends entirely on the nature of the movie.

For something like this, which wouldn't have any elaborate sets or extensive special effects work, it can be surprisingly fast.

Yeah, I should think this film will require minimal effort with regards to effects, elaborate sets, etc.; I reckon 18 months is long enough to get this film done and dusted.

I haven't felt this apprehensive about a Queen project for a very long time. Most things nowadays I can take or leave - but this has to be done right.

Quick post. It has to be done right, and I sure hope it will be, because Freddie and all the people he worked with through the years( brings up this point, how many of those people will be featured in the movie) and even the fans, deserve this to be done right. It's so up and down about this film...but I hope with the time frame, that it is done with the best of intentions. I'm still wary about it, but it's once again piquing my interest.
Please powers that be...do good with this. The last I want to see is something that is less than deserving of Freddie's lfe and legacy.
ETA~Longer post than I thought it would be.

If you want to know when the film is shooting, answer this fiendishly difficult puzzle. What stops on August 5th and doesn't start up again for no apparent reason until November 1st?

phpBB [video]

The above is promo for QAL but at 3:22 in almost a throwaway where the interviewer mentions Bo Rhap, Wayne's World and Mike Myers, Brian stops and says

"Yeah we talk to Mike now and again and he may be involved in something we're doing"

It was really quick and it moved on....But I would have to think Brian means the bio right? What else could Mike Myers be involved with?

Brilliant find, CNB.

Anyone else notice what looks like the storyboards in the background of this picture? Have tried to zoom in and can make out some well known Queen photos/covers, etc. but cannot make out much else.

That's the one I noticed first too. There also looks like what seems to be a Freddie mask (well, top of his face) on one of the boards - that sounds mental, but it is there. There looks like lots of various pics and there is writing at the top of some of the boards - I would love to see what that all says!

At least this all looks like it really is happening now. Let's hope it does the man justice. :)

Looks like they've now cast the actor to play Roger, if the Sun newspaper can be trusted! :-D

Anybody know if any movie industry bigs were seen at the Hollywood Bowl Q+Al shows or after-parties? Maybe they wanted to see for themselves how much appeal Queen still has before greenlighting the project and fully opening the wallet.
