Nice little interview with Aaron Mccusker (Jim Hutton), who is full of praise for Jim and his relationship with Freddie. He also states his part is very small - only 4 or 5 scenes.

I should think we will start seeing more interviews like this one over the coming months; personally, I cannot wait for Rami and the boys to start doing TV interviews/chat shows (only a few months now).

Small or big, I'm just glad Jim has a spot in this film. It'd have been wrong not to have him included. And it makes sense his part would be small if they plan on ending in summer 1985. Jim and Freddie had been seeing each other for only a few months. In fact, Live Aid was the first Queen performance Jim ever attended. Now, I wonder if Freddie will give his pick up line to Jim..."How big's your cock?" lol

About the new photo: When did Brian actually use a Les Paul? Any events during Queen's career, or is this also a liberty they have taken?

According to a quick Google I just did - he used one for the 1974-75 tour.

But on the pic Freddie has a stash so it can't be from that year. This guys will never fool around with timelines would they ? ;)

I am not sure that the picture is from the actual film. It might be some promo or test picture. As the first photo of Rami, his look was then different in the trailers.

Roger's hair and some of his kit set up from the mid 70s
Freddie's look is Hot Space era
John's clothes? Not sure but mid 80s at a guess (though the pic doesn't even look like Joe Mazzello!!)
Brian - for benefits of the doubt he could easily have used a Les Paul in the rehearsal room, and the clothes look 84/85 era ish

It looks to be part of the scene where Roger and Fred fight in the studio as seen in both trailers judging by the clothes.

And given that the only dialogue we've heard from that scene so far is "You need to slow down, Fred" at a guess it could be set in '79/'80 but as CMS said, it could well be '84 where I'm assuming the film will have the band break down after The Works causes a hoo-ha Stateside.

But only time will tell. Heck, who knows if that scene will even be in the film itself?

It looks to me to be a promo shot. I mean, when did Freddie ever use his trademark half microphone stand in a recording studio? Never to my knowledge.

Well spotted. It is definitely from the "slow down Fred" scene as everyone in the band wears the same clothes as in the promo. So this is in the studio in the 80s. That is quite certain.

Good find.

More interesting than the actual photo for me was the interview with Rami; knowing that he travelled to London at his own expense before anything was even confirmed just shows how passionate and dedicated he was from the off - and doubly confirms that we have the right man for the job. Good on him!

forgive my ignorance of him but I was surprised he was 37
thought of him as quite a bit younger.
No bad thing though

Another nice little interview with Rami. Tellingly, he started preparing for this role two years before it was confirmed it was his - now if that is not dedication I really do not know what is. Short interview, but quite revealing.
