On another note - I remember in Channel 5's infancy they actually screened a "Queen Day" which was full of interesting Queen-related programming I'd never seen before or since, including a Queen-themed episode of the old quiz show 100%. Anyone else remember this?

I believe I videotaped the lot at the time...so, yes, I certainly remember it. Think they had one of those best queen songs rundown too.

A question...does Channel 5 show such low budget programming such as this? I'm in Canada so I really don't know the answer. Anyways, I wasn't expecting to be able to watch it, it would've been better if I didn't. Lesley Ann Jones...I can't get over her gall. I can forgive bad wigs, bad costumes...but not just parts of it that seemed taken from crappy tabloids.

Yes, Channel 5 has always shown the worst type of TV: The World's Fattest Woman; The Toddler Without a Face; Fatty Has a Tumour; Alien Porn (the last two I made up, but you get my drift).

That makes more sense. The person who runs Brian's site just puts anything that's in the news regarding Queen, etc. on as news bits. Not really promoting it. Just a catchall of news.

Yes, I see what you mean: I know site admin put up all sorts of stuff on there and so I guess it wouldn't be classed as promoting it in that sense - I just thought I had seen it on this site...but had obviously had a fucktard moment.

It happens to all of us :)

Seen clips of this and it seems similar to that equally bad 'Who Wants To Live Forever?' doc on Channel 5 last year.

Both Freddies looked and sounded great with the mannerisms being spot on (though the ITV Freddie's 'tache was comically fake, I'm surprised it didn't start peeling off) but in both documentaries the rest of the band looked awful. Both of them had Deacy in that weird ginger afro wig.

Both docs were uncomfortably seedy too. I mean we all know that Freddie led an exciting and boisterous after-hours lifestyle, but some of the scenes and dialogue are less than flattering painting him as something of a lech instead of a rambunctious but affable hedonist, which the impression I've always had.

Fred was also recently portrayed in the Urban Myths episode 'Backstage at Live Aid, flirting with Bono, of all people. :p

I love the description of Freddie as a "rambunctious but affable hedonist" - excellent! Close to the mark, from what Jim Hutton used to say.
Body Language, huh, huh.
