I've looked into South Korean, Indonesian, Hong Kong, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Ukrainian, South American and a whole host of releases from around the world. Any ideas where the picture came from?

After checking with the different releases on Discogs, it looks like those pictures are of the South Korean release. If you go to this page: https://www.discogs.com/Queen-Greatest- ... se/3946390 and then click on the "More Images" text underneath the cover image. I noticed that the labels have the same blue-ish color to them that the labels in the pictures above have. Also, checking the rear cover, both the pictures here and on Discogs have the little Parlophone logo in the top right corner and the same logo/text at the bottom.

The South Koreans have come up with a few interesting releases over the years.

My favourite was a little 2-CD boxset, called Gold. The first CD was basically the first Greatest Hits album, but the second CD had a really good mix up of other stuff on it. Also, I seem to remember they did a three disc boxset (1-DVD/2-CD) in of Queen Karaoke Greatest Hits, where the CDs in it, unlike it's Japanese parent, didn't mind going in a computer for making copies for the car. Talking of that one, I also picked up a CDV version of that release from the Philipines, where one of the stereo channels is the karaoke version, and the other is the vocal version, while still trying to maintain the stereo perspective. It means that basically all the lead vocals are mixed to one side. Creates an interesting dynamic.

But forgot how to learn.

That's true about the Korean Karaoke hits. I own a set of it, and also transferred the tracks to my Mac and iPod.

Was in Amsterdam today and went into FAME (Holland's version of HMV) and they were stocking the new releases. GH1 looks really nice in gatefold format. GH2 is faithful to the original with gold foiled embossed lettering. Looking forward to picking these up when back in the UK.

Embossed lettering on GH II ? Wow, cool. Was this also on the original ?

FAME used to be great when it was just off Dam Square - then it moved to the top of the Magna Plaza and they must surely have suffered from a massive loss of footfall up there. The new location inside MediaMarkt is equally depressing and too far from the middle. Wouldn't quite compare them to HMV though, as they didn't have that many outlets in the Netherlands. Free Record Shop was probably more the equivalent, but they went bust a few years ago.

Yes I remember the Dam Square store... First time I went in there I was amazed at the multiple piles of box sets you could browse, not like in the UK where each HMV would have about two copies per store. I suppose that's due to many CDs manufacturers operating out of the Netherlands so stock is plentiful.

Must admit that the new Mediamarkt store is out of the way, thought I was never gonna find it from walking from the train station.

Plenty of copies of "on air" on LP and 2CD also but none of the deluxe box set.

Has anyone got the new GH 1 or 2 yet ?

How is the quality of the vinyl, sound and sleeve artwork?

I picked up GH1 last week. Quality of the sleeves and artwork is excellent. Crisp and clear. Unfortunately i had to get a replacement for my first copy as it suffered from a manufacturing defect known as 'non-fill' where you hear a ripping noise when playing - this was occurring loads on Bo-Rhap. Happy to say the second copy that i got was fine all the way through and played with no problems. Sound-wise on par with the vinyl re-issues last year (they are from the same masters).

Can't comment on GH2 as i don't have it yet (.....it's on my Xmas list). Seen it in the shops and if anything the sleeve is better than the original.
