Quite ironic that there is a thread about the legacy of this band presently not too far away from this one; I have given up with them...I really have. It comes to something when a band of this status releases fuck all for ages and then gives us this shite. Shocking. :-(

Monopoly rethemes itself to everything now, disappointing queen has fallen into their trap. Queen should instead licence a new boardgame developed around the storylines of their early songs such as Ogre Battle.

I love the logo, the crest and the font + the Live Killers photo.

The vintage, cool Live Killers photo looks awesome in this big format in high resolution. Perfect choice, instead of the 80s Freddie at Wembley pose. So thumbs up for a great design! Also cool with the Queen font below, added to the reflection on the stage.

And the tiny figures are epic! I might get this game just because of it.

The robot from News of The World, nude woman on bicycle from Jazz, a Red Special...
They are pretty identical to the originals too, not bad at all!

In some years this will be an item for collectors of Queen related products.
Special releases like this are limited.

How cool to have a classic game of Monopoly that is based on Queen. :)
Invite some friends, listen to Queen and play the game. Perfect!

If I shall own a game of Monopoly, it has to be this one!

Good choice of color; sort of darkish red with golden sparkles.

Looking forward to see some unboxing videos on youtube :D

They have really done a great job on this game. I have studied the board a little closer :) :

The game starts off with 1974 and the Rainbow Theatre building , then 1975; the Hammersmith Odeon, Hyde Park 1976 etc..in chronological order. Wembley Stadium is the most expensive.

On the board there are marked up 2 places for where to put the 2 types of cards that you have to pick:

1. A Kind Of Magic
2. In The Lap Of The Gods

I am curious what the text says on the different cards, because there will be a lot of them.
Probably a lot of fun I guess :-P

Now I wonder, will there be a UK version only ?

Hey, it's got that robot that Roger did an impression of for the Fun on Earth cover.

I'm not sure we can really call it a 'Queen' release. Yeah, I guess someone at QPL signed off on it but it's more of a Monopoly product that happens to have Queen.

True. It just annoys me that this is about the only thing with their name on to get excited about (well, apart from the 3d book, which I like the look of).

Saying all that, having looked at the game in more detail - it does look very smart, I have to say.

Why isn't the crest one of the pieces?

And another good thing; it is all based on the original 4 members, artwork, fonts and albums, no Queen+.
The metal figures also look very authenic. It looks like a proper, official product like in the good old days. No matter if you like the idea with a Queen monopoly or not, you surely have to give them credit for good research and quality check with thls game. Thumbs up from me to Hasbro and the Queen team!

Because the crest is all over the lid already, in gold. And the pieces are all based on real physical items in Queen history, not drawings or logos. That is why I think.

It is actually a true replicia of this UK promo item from 1977. I think they used it in record stores for the release of the album back in the day :)
