Amazon UK: NOTW box set will be 5 discs

According to Amazon UK the forthcoming box set for News Of The World will contain five discs:

Also no mention of vinyl and this is listed as purely CD. I wonder if there will be different editions like with Rainbow etc... a double CD of the original album and the reworked one, a set adding a Blu Ray with the documentary, another adding outtakes CD etc... then finally one with everything, including the vinyl.

I hope they don't royally screw us over by having excusive tracks spread about across the editions so you have to buy the same thing several times over to get everything.....if you buy the 'top edition' you should get everything.

£141 is a hell of a lot for JUST 5 CDs, so it will be good to see the press release about different editions etc so I can order asap to 'lock in' on Amazon's best price guarantee for the set I want, with the option to cancel if anywhere else comes up cheaper before release.

140£ for 5 discs?! This is getting stupid.

What I'd like to see in this 5 disc box:

- 1st disc: CD
"Alternate News Of The World", 2017 stereo REMIX from the multitracks, featuring alternate vocal takes, guitar solos, etc.;
- 2nd disc: CD
"Feelings, Feelings" and a full on disc filled with demos and further early takes / alternative versions of the songs we know or maybe unfinished songs we never got to hear (I'm dreaming, I know);
- 3rd disc: BluRay
Bob Harris documentary, featuring footage from NotW recording sessions and the NotW tour, including a couple of unseen NotW tour tracks and deleted scenes as extras;
- 4th disc: BluRay
The wonderful Houston Summit show in its complete form and full glory; The We Are The Champions video shoot mini concert as a bonus;
- 5th disc: LP
Original album, original mix, AAA cut


What we'll probably get is:

- 1st disc: CD
Original album, original mix, 2017 stereo remaster;
- 2nd disc: CD
"Alternate News Of The World", 2017 stereo Remix from the multitracks, featuring "different guitar solos, different vocal takes" and probably 2017 re-recordings;
- 3rd disc: BluRay
Bob Harris documentary, featuring footage from NotW recording sessions and the NotW tour. Maybe a few Houston tracks as extras;
- 4th disc: DVD
Same as above on DVD;
- 5th disc: LP
Original album, cut from a new digital transfer.

I wonder aside from the discs they will throw in the box. My guess is a hardback book, tour programme replica, tour poster, concert tickets replica's, maybe a Champions/Rock You 12 inch vinyl, a mini replica robot, some buttons and of course.......the balloons!

What is in this box? Any idea?

Someone who attended the Freddie birthday said that the documentary was amazing and it features loads of Houston footage. I've noticed that the length of the doc according to the programme is an hour long. A shame since there was so much stuff filmed by Bob and his crew (if it is indeed that documentary of course). Let's hope that it will be extended for the boxset.

Folks! I think this is an anniversary release so at some point it will go out of print since it I imagine will be a limited edition so it won't matter what is and isn't included as it will hopefully all be re-released in the long run as it is anyways! That display looks like what I said it will probably be like! Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" box set!

Anyone got any reviews of yesterday's documentary screening they would like to share ?

It won't be extended between now and release and I'd be very surprised if they didn't show the whole thing at the birthday. An hour's plenty to be honest.

Also, this is looking like a complete rip-off. Whitesnake's 1987 anniversary set is 5 discs and that's only £35. That's almost a third of the price.

So it looks like we're getting £63 worth of (likely) pointless crap.
