Well, according to the press blurb, yes, there is a Freddie version (rough take, I think).

And as to why it has taken this long to release? This is typical of Queen...I mean, it's now 20 years since I recall the Fan Club talking about putting the anthology together (which ain't going to materialise now anyway)...they don't like to rush things do Queen.

Rainbow concert took 40 years before they put out a proper live release, (except from it being included in a limited Box Of Trix in 1992, and heavily edited).

The sad and also very strange thing is that the remaining band members seem to hate their 70s concerts. I don't know why. It is a mystery, because artistically and musically their 70s stuff are widely regarded among both fans and also critics, as better than anything from the 80s. I don't think they are doing themselves a favor by holding back all the good stuff.

An explanation may be, that their dream was to achieve what they did in the 80s, Live Aid, Wembley 86 etc., and for them this comes out as their ultimate performances, and when they look back at the 70s, they only see a band that was on their way up, and therefore it ain't good enough for them. But people outside the band see it differently I think.

I think Freddie's stage presence might have something to do with it. Over time Freddie became much better at interacting with the audience and that seems to be how they want us to remember him.

So we end up with most live releases focusing on the Freddie with a 'tache singing Radio Gaga rather than the Freddie in a leotard and black nail polish singing The Millionaire Waltz. Which is a shame as their 70's concerts were every bit as good as their 80's ones. In fact often much better than their supposedly 'best' Magic tour.

Yeah agreed 100%

The classic live period ended well before the magic tour

Has the piano ever been officially credited to Brian? Nevertheless I'd be very surprised if it's not him. It's almost certainly a mistake on the writer's part. Which naturally made it onto the official web page.

Interesting.
I would have said Brian. There's a style to playing piano and that is very definitely Brians style. Not Freds

It says on wiki and the queenonline page that its freddie. Its not freddie. That is definately brian. Its played by someone who has had piano lessons.

I'd have said that it was Brian too.

Save Me was Brian, and All Dead has pretty much the same style of playing to it.

Brian composed Seven Seas of Rhye then?

I never knew that. ;-)

Seven Seas of Rhye was composed by Freddie.

Fred played piano on Sail Away Sweet Sister as well as live versions of Doing All Right, White Queen, Father to Son (1975) and Save Me (1979 - 1981).

Brian wasn't credited for the piano on 'All Dead' but he did play it. Whenever there was a Queen song written by Brian which had piano, it was him, except for 'Sail Away' (Frederick) and 'Let Me in Your Heart Again' (the other Frederick).
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

How's about Now I'm Here, some absolutely rip-roaring piano on that one. Always wondered if that was someone outside the band, actually.
