I'd genuinely like them to do some shows with a different vocalist. Nothing against Adam as a person, but I find his voice grates on me, and it doesn't suit Queen's tracks imho.

Then again, it fits with what Brian likes these days - Kerry Ellis has the same effect on me, so I haven't bought any of his albums with her and only a couple of tracks have been "tolerable" for me.

So even if Adam Lambert was to go on his merry way, I can't imagine his replacement would be any different. That style is what Brian seems to want to sell his work these days, and he's worked hard enough to have the right to do whatever he wants with his catalogue. Roger, too.

But I also have a right to take my money elsewhere. I saw Queen + Paul Rodgers once per tour, and I bought (and still occasionally listen to) The Cosmos Rocks, because I enjoyed them. I don't go and see Queen + Adam Lambert, and wouldn't buy anything they released, because I don't enjoy them. Simple.

I just wish I could see Brian and Roger live once more and actually enjoy it. That won't happen as long as a singer like Adam or Kerry is centre stage... but if that's how it has to be, so be it.

The 50th Anniversary is coming up...

Can't believe it's been 25 years since the last one...! They did a great version of Earth that night, I thought.

Indeed it is ! Which implies... the 50th anniversary of Brian and Roger's partnership ! I've been dreaming for a long time they would do something special to celebrate their very first concert together. Specifically an intimate gig at the Imperial College Union (to be broadcast live). Just the two of them (possibly with guests, including Tim Staffell and Paul Rodgers ?).
