Who is next for Queen+?

Ok, so Lambert is clearly as bored with it all, as we all are of him. Apparently he has now forgotten the words to Bo Rhap during the last three shows (even Paul Rodgers got it right in the end and he hated Queen).

They probably have enough time to ditch him and do a tour with someone else, but who should it be?

Obviously, John has retired.

I suggest they invite back their original bassist, Barry Mitchell and Smile vocalist Tim Staffel, and then do a prog-rock tour reunion, in respect of the first Queen album.. on which both Tim and Barry can relate to, for all the hard-core Queen fans.

frankly, everyone at Queen productions (including, but not limited to brian, john, roger and jim beach) should be fired, and the Queen brand should be put under curatele.

a sane person, anyone, should then oversee the restoration and compilation of the best Queen archival items; concerts, demos, songs, artwork, notes, etc and put it all out (though everything with brian vocals should be published by duck productions and everything roger on nightjar). freddie = Queen = freddie

They could have Eddie Howell as a special guest appearance.

interesting suggestions, but too niche, even for die hard Queen fans.

freddie vocals and concert; it's what 99% of the Queen fanbase, and everyone else, wants to hear

Probably (and arguably) the best Queen related release since Freddie died, was the big Freddie boxset in about 2000, and predominately, one guy was behind that release, Jim Beach.

Careful where you aim your shots, as if it was down to just him, I think we'd have had the Anthologies years ago.

Queen's original bassist says in the interview below (2015), that if they force him, he might join them for a tour: ;)

My take on it? Hopefully nobody is next for Q+. I hope all the +'s is going to be over with.

I believe this too. I also believe there are staffers that beg Maylor to release more stuff but are stymied time and time again. I don't begrudge Brian for being picky and only wanting to release material he deems good enough tho'. I understand that even tho' it results in shoddy releases like NOTW40 and those crap 2 disc reissues from 2011.

I also don't care if or want them to retire. I can't imagine a third wave of Q+ Whatever happening. QAL is probably how they will end Queen-related touring. Sadly, I also believe they will not be able to resist the chance to release new QAL music. It will chart better than most Queen releases in the USA and Maylor will be sure to mention that. But if they did a Made In Heaven-like album with archived Freddie tracks it would crash the Top Ten in the U.S....maybe even #1 depending how that week's competition. Not. Gonna. Happen. I know. They likely had a chance to do that for what became the Queen Forever fiasco but it was never even a possibility after all.

It's not going to happen...

BUT if Adam were to leave, I'd much prefer Brian and Roger to do a smaller scale show and they just go as themselves with some backing vocalists. They can have guests if they want here or there but do a smaller scale show of the songs they'd be involved with...maybe some rearranged for their elder voice

they have made it very clear they "do not want to scrape the barrel"

little do they know, "the barrel" is all they have left that we're interested in

Where did you get the statistic "We are all bored Adam Lambert?" Well I'm not. And majority of Queen fans will agree. The thing is I'm fed up with people moaning about everything which Queen has done since 1991. Literally everything recently has been complained by many supposedly Queen fans. Why be fans if you don't agree with anything the band does?

No one can replace Freddie, we all know that, but Adam is next on the list on vocal ability. He hasn't replaced Freddie hence "Queen +". Brian and Roger are doing something they love best about being a musician: touring. This will probably be the last time they do a tour, so why has those who are negative recognised this fact?

THIS IS A QUEEN SHOW. Brian and Roger are part of Queen; therefore, Queen is in the title (in case no one knew). We should also respect John's decision about retiring, he is now doing what he wants to do. He thought about quitting the band in the mid-1980s, so his decision to retire was based on he thought Queen was over like Brian and Roger did. But they are still as successful as they were 40 years ago!

Just deal with Adam Lambert performing with Queen. He is forgetting words in one of the most complicated songs ever written might be why he is forgetting. Freddie forget words all the time in Queen songs, Bohemian Rhapsody several occasions. So why decide upon that he is bored?
It's so easy, but I can't do it
But some day one day
I should be doing all right
