Saying that.... Dangerland apparently came out of "nowhere".

Re: Princes Of The Universe, to me, it's always sounded loosely hooked into Brian's 'Gimme The Prize', the same way Brian's involvement in the track 'Machines' evolved out of Roger's original demo of Radio Ga Ga.

Another World was a compilation of all sorts - a video game, a TV theme, the aforementioned Sliding Doors reject, a couple of tribute covers. If the rejected Bond theme is released, I'd say it's on there. If it hasn't been released, it must not be that good (given some of the tat he's passed on to Kerry Ellis).

My best bet would be Why Don't We Try Again - if sung by a soaring female vocal....

Yes and I think One Vision and A Kind of Magic are similarly linked. Christ nearly half the AKOM album emerged from just two ideas

Cheers, I knew we had discussed this before. I even made a crap joke in the thread :P

Quite disturbed to discover it was nearly eight years ago

The only other quote we have on this is a member of A-Ha saying they got the gig when Queen were rejected. Now, this could be crossed wires, but that would put the Bond theme effort as being circa 1987, meaning that if the song DID appear elsewhere, it could be on Back to the Light, or even The Miracle/Innuendo/Made in Heaven.

If it's the latter, my guess for years now has been Was It All Worth It, which would only need a few lyrical adjustments to become a perfect Bond theme - a lot of the current lyrics seem to fit Timothy Dalton's tenure as Bond perfectly.

Alternatively, Back to the Light could have fit the Bond template pretty well.

Certainly dramatic enough.

IIRC, Last Horizon first surfaced somewhere around that sort of time, when Brian played it on the Richard Digence Show. I mean, you never know. Brian might have thought the melody was too good to just let a song die, and gave it new life as an instrumental. I guess someone is going to have to ask him a bit more about it.

"The Call" has always sounded pretty bond-esque to me.

I'm going to guess 'I Want It All''; with different lyrics (maybe keep the chorus) it would fit quite well

I've often thought that the only sure fire way the current day Queen could have a hit with a guest vocalist would be a Bond theme... With the help of Brian's friend Don Black and a decent producer, why couldn't Brian and Roger come up with just last killer track that could break into the mainstream?

The danger of course is that Lambert's team who came up with the likes of Two Fux would get involved...
