Must have missed that one!
Maybe because he's down as playing 'David' as opposed to 'David Bowie'.

I think a mash-up like this would work well over the credits:

Could be David Evans, one of Freddie's early boyfriends, as opposed to Bowie?

Perhaps, but with the fallout of Hot Space being a presumably large part of the film's narrative during the middle, it'd make little sense to omit Bowie, especially as 'Under Pressure is the most well known song on the album amongst casual fans.

Claims of "hetwashing" in the film have been disproven by the leak of this gay orgy scene revealing Freddie's inspiration for Body Language.

Oh, I'm not sure I'm right. There's also a "Steve" in there, and nothing immediately springs to mind.

But Bowie would make some sense, as there was UP, and also Live Aid and I guess they could even do something at the Tribute. Is equally likely to just be some character so minor he didn't deserve a last name!
I don't think Elton is listed...and I don't see Rod Stewart. Those would make sense.
Roll on November!

They'll be a scene where John sees this guy walking wearily down the street and inspiration hits

I think that Living on my own will get greater attention and hopefully the song Mr Bad guy as well!
Then I think also that big hits like AOBTDust will get even greater attention...

I've thought about this some more, and for some reason, I keep coming back to 'Hammer To Fall' as being one that may gain more attention than it presently gets. Maybe because it opens their Live Aid set, I dunno.

Hammer to fall was the third live aid track - but it has the iconic moment where Freddie dances with the camera man while utterly belting It out. It might also fit the narrative where the band coming apart - Brian getting frustrated and blasting the damn amps up in response to deacon's farty synthesiser solo on break free. Freddie singing it with such conviction when he shunned that genre for the past four years.

My guess on the plot use of songs:

"These crazy kids can actually play together!" - Keep Yourself Alive

"We're a flop, I'm quitting the band to become an astrophysicist/dentist/electrical engineer" but then.....Seven Seas Of Rhye is a hit on Top Of The Pops!

"The Sheffield brothers are so mean and stingy I can't even afford a blood transfusion, but I'll record this guitar solo from my death bed as the last notes I'll ever play!" - Killer Queen.

"One leaves behind hetero-normative encumbrances the way one leaves behind extreta". Released from their debt ridden Trident contract, Queen are free to go in to much more debt recording Bohemian Rhapsody and they are the biggest band in Britain!

We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, Crazy Little Thing Called Love - The biggest white band ever in America!

Another One Bites The Dust - The biggest black band ever in America!

Under Pressure - Queen and Bowie record the last ever rock song of the 20th Century.

Body Language - EDM is here!

"I'm quitting the band because I've been offered $1 Billion dollars to make a solo album but I'm going to "blow" the lot on my 39th Birthday party!" - Radio Ga Ga and I Want To Break Free are the last Queen songs ever recorded. (Columbia records are left wondering if Norman Sheffield didn't have a point).

Freddie dies on stage at Live Aid, in a group hug with the band, Mary and Jim Hutton. His final line is "Top that Elton, top that".
THE END.

I reckon My Fairy King will get a mention because that's the song which was written at the same time Freddie changed his name to Freddie Mercury instead of Freddie Bulsara because of the lyrics in the song.

I also think Lily Of The Valley and In The Lap Of The Gods... Revisited might get a mention because of the 'hidden' meanings in the lyrics. Brian has said before that he thinks that some of Freddie's songs is talking about his sexuality and wanting to come out e.g. "it's so easy but I can't do it".

Hot Space will probably get a feature but not in a good way! It'll probably have the band saying how much they hate it - even John hated Hot Space.
It's so easy, but I can't do it
But some day one day
I should be doing all right

^I think those songs are too obscure. The movie will probably cater towards the general public, thus there will be an emphasis on the hits, not the lesser known album tracks. Take for example Fat Bottomed Girls. They plugged that song into a 1974 concert where they could have used beauties like Father to Son or Liar. Again, I don't think there will be much effort in putting songs like Lily of the Valley or In the Lap of the Gods in the forefront. They're going to want to push as many hits as possible into the movie so the audience feels more of a connection. Can't say it's the wrong move. It's just not a move I as a die hard Queen fan will appreciate.

Its obvious fat bottomed girls has been put in the 1974 setlist cos its a brian song and he wants it to have exposure. roger doesnt seem to care as much about his songs. This movie will be top heavy with brian songs like we will rock you, fat bottomed girls, 39 will definately feature as he was disappointed it wasnt a single in the 70s. pure and simple.
