Will most likely surpass "A Star Is Born" there (US)...that one has almost 205 Mio., BR is now at 202...

The movie is now on 820.000.000 worldwide. I expect it to be on 830 million come monday.

Now both movies are on 206 million something. So it might happen this weekend.

BR passed ASIB domestically (USA+Canada).

Box office gross
$207,251,373 Bohemian Rhapsody
$207,174,984 A Star is Born

Regardless the quality as a film, I wish BR beat Solo and demonstrate the power of Queen by getting into the top 10 films of 2018. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?yr=2018&p=.htm

I don't know if that's possible anymore...I mean with that movie you never know, but slowly it should disappear from theatres I think...it's been 3 whole months already by now...I'd be surprised if it would stay in cinemas all February, too.

Though...just checking the website of my usual cinema (biggest one in Munich), the movie is still shown two or three times a day and for the next screening tomorrow afternoon 40-50 people already bought tickets...it's amazing how so many people still want to see the movie after 3 months!

Do remember that what BR has achieved in the box office is WITHOUT China. Quite an amazing achievement. To manage over 200 millions in USA with a biopic is beyond EVERY expectation.

And it is all due to the power of Freddie Mercury and Queen's music.

Very true - like when the WWRY musical launched, it has done so without a ‘star name’ heading the cast, which most films/musicals use to get bums on seats.

I can only imagine what the worldwide tally would be had the movie played in China. $1 billion? I wonder what prevented the film from playing there.
Selling off some of my Queen collection which you can find at http://evilbaby.tripod.com/Queen_Collection_Sale.html please PM me if you are interested in anything.

I was watching a preview of pay per views on my dish tv a few days ago and caught some scenes from Bohemian Rhapsody. It's not listed in the current runnings, so I'm thinking I was seeing the previews for next month, March?

Anyhow, I can't imagine it being released for tv transmission if it were still being offered at box offices. I'll keep you posted.

It's on Amazon Prime. DVD & Blu Ray release is the 12th of this month, February.
