So I guess my next one will be Freddie's 70th!

Not quite a meet up, but IIRC, you went to Ian's wedding.
You folks sure are lucky to have meet up with other posters from here...I hope there will be more to come.

Oh, that's OK.

That bar CAN be loud, and you HAD just been in the musical.

Once I went to an SAS Band gig, and stood right next to one of the banks of speakers. I couldn't really hear anything above 200 hertz for about 3 days!

What was with the heat in that building? It was uncomfortably hot in there!

I didn't like the fact that 50 or so celebs got the bar to themselves, whilst the fans that had kept the show going for 10 years got to stand in a corridor to be served from a bar that was as big as a cupboard. They keep getting it all so wrong, don't they?

It was a good show, but it wasn't as good as Freddie's 60th birthday night, well I didn't think so anyway. I don't know if West End shows can be re-written or if it has ever been done, but it might be an idea to re-write parts of it and even change two or three of the songs. Seven Seas Of Rhye needs to go for sure...it's just awful, it's so loud..so dull and I always want it to finish. :?

Sorry I missed it... would have loved to have met up with everyone again, but I only got back from Plymouth a couple of hours ago...

But if anyone's still in london and fancies a drink, I'm around all week now :)

I've just remembered my fun little MMR rant at the St Giles bar, made all the more fun when Belle noticed that I had two pens in my pocket (and a USB stick), and then having a textbook on hand to refer to. Pah.

It was lovely seeing everyone again aswell as a few new people :)

Unfortunately i had to leave around midnight to catch the last tube as i was flying home the following day .... however had i know i would end up getting stuck on a runway in Heathrow forever causing me to almost miss my connecting flight in Copenhagen i sure as hell would have stayed longer and gotten a lot drunker

Hmmm just realised that im off work for the QAL gigs and while im definately not going to those i might just pop over if theres a meet up happening in connection with it

I didn't go this time - sounds like I didn't miss much in terms of the show itself.

What happened with RT at the end? Did his kit not rise up on the platform?

He said on Twitter it was hysterical - I bet thats not what he said to the stage hand whos job it was to rise the platform ;)
It's better to burn out - than to fade away!

Other than a few faces, it seems I didn't miss anything at all. And I've already paid £75 to see Brian and Roger play for a whole 2.5 hours, rather than the 5 minutes they played on Monday.

I agree with FD on an earlier post about maybe tweaking the show.

The comedy lines were'nt delivered as well as i've seen before.
The music was great though(as always)

The last 15-20 mins were amazing.

I'm still in London til Friday, but tight schedule. Might have time for a beer on Thursday evening though. I'm located in King's Cross area ;).

I was also a bit irritated that the show was really the same old apart from the Beautiful Day Remix at the start with a couple of powerpoint sentences making the crowd aware of the anniversary.

Firstly thanks to FD for arranging the tickets. We had a great time!
A few people have already mentioned Sam Fox, we had her and I thought mother, but apparently it was her "partner" behind us all evening. They were worse for wear before the show started, and spent the whole time loudly complaining how rubbish it was. Really thought they wouldn't return for the second act, not so, so I had to tell her to shut up!
On another note, earwiging on a conversation between two theatre techies the next day, RT's lift should have come up ALOT ealier but he had insisted both his son AND his drum techie also be on either side and the lift just couldn't do it! That's why he chucked his drum sticks in a fit at the end! Apparently BM wasn't chuffed either. And to end, the reason we didn't see the Freddie "hologram" was there was too much smoke.
