Was looking for more info about the comment that I know he said because I heard it when it came out and I found this. Do you remember when he slammed Susan Boyle? He really was a douche when he first came out. I forgot all about this.

https://www.mtv.com/news/5k0x7e/adam-la ... -him-laugh

"I'm happy for her success, but that album is terrible. [The cover of the Rolling Stones'] 'Wild Horses' is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it. I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song!"

"Still, when my album charted, it was validating," he added. "I was feeling bit attacked, like I had to vindicate something. I thought: 'Wow, look what I did.' "

God he was a giant douche. I remember he backpedaled on this too.

He's a good one to slam someone else singing covers, when that's pretty much his own career.

A little old lady with a sweet success story. He was a true gentleman. Hopefully all the backlash he received early on made him a better person. He seems like he is but who knows how he acts when the cameras are off.

I wish the Amazon forums were still around. That’s where both sides had good discussions about him and his career. A lot of us said he had a lot of nerve to say that about Susan. Some of his covers are dreadful. He was an arrogant prick and when things didn’t turn out the way he thought it would he got depressed. At least he seems to know is place in the music world now.

A “C+” lister that was trying to reach an unattainable goal.

Its one thing to open mouth, inset foot, but there are times I think Lambert doesn't think before he speaks back then and now at times.
Just think Milkman, if you or I said that a out Lambert's music, we'd be getting an earful from his fans even here to say the least. Of course its OK for Lambert to say that about another artist singing a cover album lol. Of course.
Lambert crapping on another artist for a cover album and songs when that's pretty much his own career. Who has filled his pockets for well over a decade? Sure isn't his own music.
Almost laughable. Almost. I think he tries way too hard even now to be revlant and stand out. I don't think by doing so many coves is the right way to go about it. I don't see progression with him to be honest. I wonder if he will last another 5 years in the business... I truly doubt it.

Exactly! All we hear now is how wonderful he is but they forget that he was a prick. They probably still think this is sexy, we know Adam did.

Disagreements aside, one thing we can all agree with here is that Adam certainly draws attention and gets people talking about him...this thread being the most active out of all the others on a Queen forum. Wonderful!

No lie, I'm interested in his music. Not so much as I was to be honest, because I find the upcoming cover album kind of dull based on what I've heard so far. I'm not a fan of his like I once was I guess, but I do like discussing him. I've always been honest in how I felt about him and any other topic. Some people don't like that or even me, and that's OK.
Things go both ways though. If the Glamberts here posted about Freddie and Queen, those threads would be more active as well. Of all the Glamberts I've seen post here, maybe one took a deeper look in Queen's history. I may get flamed for this, but that history is very important. If not for that, there be no Lambert.

Icy,

I found something else I forgot about. When Adam was on Idol some girl that went to high school with him started a blog about how rude he was. Of course she got attacked for saying negative stuff about him but this comment from another girl that went to school with him makes perfect sense to me. Still sounds true to this very day and she said this when he was on Idol.

“Look, kiddo, the truth of the matter is that Adam Lambert was a jerk in high school. If you knew him, you would agree. He was a good singer, but he mistook that ability as an indication of a higher worth than his fellow students, and he did not hesitate to vocalize that opinion. I'm absolutely thrilled that you've found an idol to worship, but you need to understand that your opinion of him is the result of what can only be described as a marketing scheme. Adam is a performer, not an artist. The image of an indie rocker is a facade of his own making, and it stands in stark contrast to the arrogant, rude, slightly overweight redhead that people who knew him remember. The purpose of this facade is simple: to sell to unwitting consumers (i.e. you) who mistake style for substance, artistic integrity be damned. That's it. You've been duped. If you choose to allow that, than your opinion of Adam (and my old high school friend Steph) is as insignificant as his performances. I admit that I'm a little glad that he's brought some attention to our neighborhood (now that he's ready to admit that he's not from L.A.), but the truth is that not everyone has pleasant memories of him. Your intentions to shut Steph up may be only to spare some people's feelings, but she's only telling the truth. If that truth is harmful or offensive to you, tough. That's life, and it's a lesson you'll have to learn sooner or later. “

This is probably why he made fun of Susan’s album. He’s so much better than her and she’s just a talent show singer singing covers. Karma is a bitch!
