hi all,
a couple of questions for fellow vinyl collectors...as im slowly building a sizeable collection of 7" singles released worldwide.
can anyone tell me exactly which 7" Japanese singles were released with a red label please?
secondly.... did each and every single get released as a white label promo?

Hi Tigerlee, great question, I've always had a passion for Queen's Japanese releases, don't know why, maybe because the sleeve designs were so different to anywhere else in the world. At the last count I think I had 67 different 7" vinyls, I think I need about 10 or 11 to complete the set but unfortunately those are the issues that sell for a small fortune so I doubt I will ever complete the collection.

As far as the 7" Japanese singles issued in both Caterpillar and Red labels the list is as follows
Killer Queen / Seven Seas Of Rhye - P-103E
Now I'm Here / Keep Yourself Alive - P-102E
Bohemian Rhapsody - P-128E
Tie Your Mother Down - P-193E
Teo Toriatte - P-157E
We Are The Champions - P-230E
It's Late - P271E
Bicycle Race - P350E
Don't Stop Me Now - P381E

Other Japanese 7" singles released on Red Label Only (no caterpillar)
Play The Game - P603E
Under Pressure - P1587E
Body Language - P1650
Staying Power - P1678
Back Chat - P-1709

I have no idea why the first list of singles had 2 issues with different labels, if anyone can shed some light on this that would be great. Also if anyone has any further information to contradict or add to my list please feel free!

Thanks guys ...I do find that Japanese releases particularly lp releases wether it's first or second pressings are second to none in terms of colour and overall quality... not to mention the inserts and obi strips..... a magnificent example is news of the world.... simply stunning...I think elektras' far eastern marketing people understood their market totally

you're right....they did understand the complete addiction of fans for their beloved things.
In Japan, when they are a fan of a band/artist ..they will love them forever...real labour of love.
