Going back further, I'd have gone for Manhattan Transfer - Chanson D'Amour.

Here's a good one which I just read in a pop trivia book I picked up in the bargain bin in WH Smiths.

What is the only UK number one single to feature a member of The Who.

The band member played under a pseudonym which has a Queen song connection.

Haven't got a clue, but here's a bit of trivia I didn't know. Harry Nilsson bought a flat in Curzon Place, and Cass Elliot (The Mamas and The Papas), and Keith Moon both rented it, and died in it, four years apart.

I had heard that somewhere. Might have been in Kenny Jones book.

The single I am after is from The 60s and was number one at the time of a very historic event.

Pete Townsend produced two #1's in the 60's, but that's not what you're after.

It is Townsend and he played bass on the single. He also produced this song under the pseudonym Bijou Drains so not sure if it is one of the ones you mentioned.

Fire - The Crazy World of Arthur Brown

Something In The Air - Thunderclap Newman

Both 1968, and produced under his own name, I think.

So, possibly the one you're after, wasn't one of the two #1s he produced.

Yeah it was the Thunderclap Newman one. Which was number one in July 1969 at the time of the Moon landr.
