Sure, but it definitely reached its peak then. Even the James Bond movies made in the 80s had a bunch of songs written specifically for them beyond the title track, to the point where they started putting a second song over the end credits. I think Licence to Kill had three or four songs penned for it.

It wasn't just movies either - Miami Vice had songs written specifically for it and which never appeared anywhere else.

One of my favorite TV themes

Here is another favorite by the band They Might Be Giants.

I can see right now I'll be surfing TV themes the rest of the day....speaking of surfing....

They use that 'Come And Get Your Love' by Redbone, on an ebay ad over here.

Much as though I quite like 'Witch Queen Of New Orleans', i find 'Come And Get Your Love' a tad annoying, because however you try to decipher the words, you always return to "What's the matter with your hair?"

The lyrics you find on websites seem to make even less sense. Hail?

A mate of mine once said to me Dylan is a fantastic songwriter, but the only good Dylan songs are covers.

I can't say I disagree.

He's written some fantastic songs :-

All Along The Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix Experience
Mr Tambourine Man - The Byrds
The Mighty Quinn - Manfred Mann
Make You Feel My Love - Adele.
Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Guns'n'Roses.
I'm Your Baby Tonight - Robert Palmer

The list really is quite extensive.

Just a shame other people sing them much better than he does.

Cannot stop playing this.

I don't even especially rate the album version of the song, but this just smokes. A crime it was never released more widely.

Think the studio version was a single in Europe, about the same time we got Business.
