Yep. I saw one hell of a lot of bands in a number of venues in that area. Saw The Who there, 3 times, then another time across the river from there.

10cc were a fabulous band in the studio. A lot of their stuff was so intricate, that putting it across live was never easy. Much in the same way Queen could never recreate a lot of what they put on record. Both bands had to adapt their music so they could play a "rendition" of it, live.

A bit sad really that Hal Roach had them screwed over something silly on Oliver's contract.

The film has them retiring in 1937 I think but I know they made films after that. For example Flying Dueces was released in 1939 so there might be some poetic license in there.

In fact they didn't leave Hal Roach studios until 1940 and made their last film in 1950.

I watched it in the cinema, but Jenny hadn't seen it before.

Best movie I've seen for a very long time.
