Adam Lambert

Post by Nicki »

Big news:
Adam has finally announced the release date of his new album „Velvet“ and a tour this morning. And a new teaser song („Roses“ feat. Nile Rodgers).

The complete album will be out on March, 20th.
Adam is going to tour Europe in August/September 2020. There will also be a mini Las Vegas residency in April with more US dates coming soon.

It’s a small tour with less concerts than last time. He’s going to do the same venues in Germany that he did before (although Cologne instead of Munich compared to 2016).
In Amsterdam and London (Wembley arena) the venues will be much bigger!

I‘m very curious, how it all is going to work out. I‘ve read from fans from Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, who all won‘t get a concert in their countries this time and plan to travel to the Berlin concert, because it’s the nearest and on the weekend. Only problem is, that the venue only has a capacity of 1.600 people...
it sold out early 2016.
We will see. For now I‘m happy, that I’m going to see QAL in June and Adam solo in September!

Roses

The song is nothing special in my ears. Especially the intro sounds boring. But I can imagine that it‘s great when Adam performs it live.

Bland and uninspired. No wonder his solo career tanks

Hi Nicki! “Roses” didn’t sound very special to me played on my iPhone but when I asked “Hey Google” to play it on our YouTube player, it sounded much better. So, like you, I am pretty sure it will be great when Adam performs it live.

So I got bored one night and watched every single one of Adam Lambert's American Idol performances. I used to watch the show with my parents, but by the time of that particular season I'd grown bored of the show. But I kept hearing my dad tell you me I've got to listen to this Adam guy. He even said that he'd do well fronting Queen, and this is before any of the rumors started to circulate. I must say that after watching all of his performances, he really was a force to be reckoned with. Hearing him sing Whole Lotta Love makes me wish he actually recorded original hard rock songs. His voice is perfect for it. But alas he's recorded mainly pop records.

His newest work though is much closer to my style. Looking forward to getting my hands on the full new album!

Adam is a great, talented singer who can sing a lot of different styles. I'm personally not interested in his solo music because it's in a genre I don't particularly like. His Whole Lotta Love performance at American Idol was the song which made Queen really want to play with him.

Why didn't they release Side B like they said? Did Side A not generate enough dollars for the record company? The tracklist is a little confusing since some of "Side B" is at the beginning of the disc. Roses is about as bland as it gets so I hope it's not the first single off the album.

Now for the good, I absolutely love his studio version of Believe. If he could have an original song like that he would have a hit.

My honest views, even with Nile being involved with Roses, it doesn't make it a good song. It seems uninspired to me.
It took 5 people to write it, including AL. Once again, it proves having that many people write a song doesn't make for a better song.
