Ebay - Ones worth a watch (Good ones!)

Serious discussion about the band known as QUEEN.

The more demand there is for anything, and the less supply of it, drives the price.

Only 50 copies of something, and let's say you have 5000 avid collectors of Queen stuff around the globe, then the fact these things crop up about once every five years, means that those with the eight grand to spare will buy them. If no-one is willing to spend that much, then the price will come down until it does create interest, and a buyer. That's how it works.

That doesn't explain why Esprit have had this full set in stock since 1996 and never been able to shift them. Supply and demand my arse - they're massively over priced. They're never going to get anywhere near what they're asking and they're too arrogant to put the price down.

Yes, this was my point, they are massively overpriced, and I'm convinced it's all to do with the initial price set by someone in the first place!
Hot Space is actually only my 6th favourite Queen album.
(But is a very underrated album in my opinion).

If ever I want to know the value of something, I'll go to esprit, look at their price, and knock a third off it.

The only thing I think they've got going in their favour is that very little of what gets sold through them is anything less than mint.

Well, I bought a load of stuff from them about 10 years ago, and at least 20% of it was in less than excellent condition, I was very disappointed at the time. I sent 2 items back if I remember rightly, and was given a discount on my next purchase as well. Also I bought the Japanese 3" Cd singles box set from them, and I found out recently it should have a booklet with it, which wasn't in the box they sent me. They didn't mention it at the time that anything was missing, is it too late to complain, if I can find the receipt?

I guess it depends when you bought it. More than about a month, I'd say possibly not.

What I meant was their vinyl is reputedly "usually" good.

I think I've only ever bought one thing off them, many moons ago, so I'm going purely on the reviews and feedback I've heard off others.

It was about 10 years ago, and I havn't bought anything at all from them since about 2005 (when I discovered ebay).

I havn't bothered buying those US Hollywood LP's. I bought the UK 2009/10 LP's, so can't justify buying the US ones as well!

I seem to remember someone asking about it recently, saying they hadn't seen one under a hundred quid, in ages.

This one's under eighty, all in.

I've got a few of them already, so I don't need it.

It's more than a bargain. I don't buy from Ebay, Amazon, but I look at certain things often. There is deals and great finds to be had. If I had the $ I'd be snapping this up.

Might be the right time to pick up Blue Rock. This one's still at about a tenner including postage.

Went for £22.

Funny, I think searching on a similar listing, on the back of that post, that I might have actually picked one up for a fiver, not including P&P. guess I'll have to wait and see if or what arrives. It was on a "best offer" deal, and I put in a cheeky one, and next thing I knew, it went to a "pay now" screen without confirming that the seller had accepted the bid, or any messages to lead me to that conclusion. Odd.

Still, nothing ventured...

Depends on how deep you want to go with your collection, but Brian's school friends, The Others, have a single on eBay at the moment from the time they were known as The Sands:
