I think Hamilton trying to reverse out from under him gave him a clue he was OK.

I'm not convinced Verstappen deserved the penalty for that - to me they both contributed and it should have been labelled a racing incident.

I do like Max, but I am having a bit of a giggle at him raging on social media that Hamilton didn’t give him enough room, when he squeezed Hamilton in exactly the same fashion - if not more aggressively - on lap one and the only reason they didn’t crash then is because Hamilton pulled out of it.

The penalty does seem a bit strong, but I do think he was predominantly at fault, just as Hamilton was predominantly at fault at Silverstone.

I think you can generally use the Horner-Wolff discussions as a gauge. If Christian Horner blames the other team, but isn't whining like a jet engine winding down, then his driver is at fault.

Seriously, he could have checked Hamilton was alright, instead of getting on the radio, and saying "Well, that's what happens if you don't give me room!"

He might be an exceptionally good driver, but he's got a little bit to learn about being a good sportsman.

It didn't bother me that Max didn't check on Lewis. The issue is more about Max being impetuous and not being smart. If that was a McLaren and not Lewis that he collided with, then Lewis would have regained the championship lead.

Even at Silverstone when Lewis got blamed, Max should have conceded the corner and probably the race win. He would have still collected points. Whilst he will probably still win the WC, if he keeps doing these things he may still lose it.

For those F1 fans who do not have Sky, Sunday's race will be shown live on Channel 4 in the UK.

Ah, thanks for the heads up! Wonder how they blagged that one?

Far prefer 4's coverage team.

So who will win? Max has certainly got the advantage as he only has to finish ahead of Lewis to be champion or if they both fail to finish.

My prediction is that it will be Lewis. Lewis knows how to win the world championship and is so much smarter on the track. Max should have won 3 or 4 races ago. However, as it was shown in the Saudi GP he is still too crazy on the track which caused him to pick up penalties. The Saudi GP summed up the season for me as Max has been faster, but he is impatient and will break later with the view that it is up to the other guy to avoid the collision.

Qualification will be critical. If Lewis and Bottas lock out the front row, then it will be for Lewis to lose. If Max and Lewis are on the front row, expect fireworks, with no quarter given.

One thing for sure, is that the fans will be the biggest winners.

I'm really looking forward to it, but I'm out while it's on, so I can't watch it live.

The way you describe Max you could be describing Senna - he brakes later and if there's a collision it's because the other driver didn't back out of it!

I'd like to see Max get his first championship, but I think Lewis will just edge it as he has the experience of being in this situation.

If they're both on the front row there are three words - Senna, Prost. Suzuka. :D

Apparently the FIA has the power to deduct points. So if Max were to deliberately take out Lewis, he might be punished that way.

Yeah, I read about that after I posted. Good job too.
