This is one of those times we agree to disagree. And that's OK, no worries.MusicalProstitute wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 5:51 pmI don't think he has broken down any barriers of any worth though. And how has he changed the face of music? He hasn't done anything. He has just said that he doesn't identify as male or female - hardly brave or revolutionary. I don't know much of his music but from what I have seen of him I think he is pretty boring and predictable.midnight sky wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 4:06 pm
I truly think Sam Smith broke barriers down these last few years in many ways. I look at it like this, Sam is well Sam, doing things their way. I'm thankful for it. They are out there changing the face of music and I think it cannot be easy for them to be so open as they are.
I'm a huge fan. Their journey has been fascinating to watch. How dull it would be without him and a few other artists in the past 10 to 15 years. Sam continue to evolve.
But, saying that, he still deserves to be who he wants without hatred being thrown at him.
Before Sam, I can't think of another male artist in recent years who has evolved so much. From a blue eyed soul singer to where he is now...wow, I find it incredible, inspirational even. All IMO.
I think they are a wonderful singer and song writer. They are doing things their way, and no lie, I adore it. I do think they are brave. I'm glad they are around, but the hate they get...I wish them all the best in the world. I will never understand the hate and bitterness just for being them.
