SHEER HEART ATTACK LP (vinyl collectors guide)

Serious discussion about the band known as QUEEN.

All out of interesting SHA LP photos, so I've moved onto the original tape and 8-track UK versions

Hot Space is actually only my 6th favourite Queen album.
(But is a very underrated album in my opinion).

£100 in excellent condition is OK, unless one of the LP's inside is signed by all 4 of them (apparently 600 of these?), in which case it is worth about £1000

Personally, I'm not that keen on the sound on the pressings. I think they were all mastered at EMI, but they have that shallow cut sound on them that is typical of the later Townhouse cuts like the A Kind Of Magic and Barcelona albums. I much prefer the original vinyls over them.

Totally agree. It is a nice box though, and I like the simply designed sleeves/booklets etc.

All I know is that the taped copies of the bonus material from Complete Works was my first introduction to the non album side of Queen.
Blurred Vision etc. were new to me and hearing those 'rarities' certainly helped increase my desire to hear more!

They are good, including I Go Crazy, A Human Body and Soul Brother which I really like, and of course One Vision which is superb!

Reading Wikipedia, that bonus LP with those 7 tracks apparently comes in 2 versions, 33 1/3rpm and 45rpm, weird

I'm thinking of doing something similar to this on here for the Bohemian Rhapsody original 7" version.

If anybody would like to see this on here later this week in a new thread, please say so and let me know, and I will take some photos etc

Thanks, and I've just been through all my worldwide SHA LP's to check which were cut by The Mastering Lab (TML), and the following were:-

UK
Greece
Israel
Italy (first pressing)
Mexico (first pressing only)
Holland (first pressing only)
Portugal
South Africa
Sweden
Yugoslavia

So that's 10 out of the 25 countries I could check, so in fact lots of the worldwide EMI versions were first cut by TML, maybe they did a combined deal with The Mastering Lab? None of the Elektra worldwide SHA LP versions were cut by TML interestingly.

The Denmark version is also a Mastering Lab (TML) pressing!

Well this came as a surprise, just found out that the very first German SHA LP pressing only is also a Mastering Lab (TML) cut

So that is now 12 out of 25 countries!

So the f*ckers shipped it to Amsterdam, then shipped it back and sold it in HMV for about twelve quid.

The Remixes album was also released in several other European countries.

Being such an unexpected release, it still shipped 730,000 copies by the end of 1993 in the continent, according to EMI International. Although 410,000 of them were sold in Italy alone.

So anyone at all interested in seeing this done for the original Bohemian Rhapsody 7" single?

I will do this with the different matrix details and photos if anyone is interested, if no interest I won't bother :)

Is that The Freddie Mercury Album, or a different release?
If different, are the remixes different to the FM Album ones, like LOMO is?
TIA.

It's completely different as far as I'm aware.

Sorry, only just noticed this.

The "Remixes" mini-album was different to the white covered Freddie Mercury Album. "Remixes" was a six-track collection and featured the No More Brothers version of Living On My Own, the remixes of My Love Is Dangerous and Great Pretender from the US "The Great Pretender" album, and the "Love Kills" Wolf remix, plus two others that are so notable that I can't remember right now.
