Off the top of my head...

Portuguese copy of Queen II. For some reason, it REALLY does sound the canine's appendage to me.

As an aside, it's the only edition of the album I've ever found with no track bandings on it!

I've also got a soft spot for the German pressing of News Of The World, sounds lovely, and has very similar labels to ADATR, i.e. Crest on one side, and the tracklisting on the other, as opposed to everywhere else, which had a faded crest, and the tracklisting for each side superimposed over the top of it.

I think 1989 was a creative year when it comes to cover and vinyl design. Hologram, clear vinyl, and autograph etching to name a few.

Also, will we see LP versions of Greatest Hits I and II in the future? Special editions maybe?

Yes - the bicycle poster will be included - in fact on the reverse is where they are printing the lyrics, as the lyrics weren't included on the original gatefold.

I would love to see the greatest hits packages get a vinyl release - Greatest Hits 1 would definitely benefit from a 2LP release as there 30mins of music on each side which means due to the groove cramming it sounds very quiet and "un-dynamic" They would also have to revert back to the original EMI artwork rather than the 2011 version as that's cr@p.

What about Greatest Hits 3?

Limited relevance, maybe? "Are you ready, are you ready for this? I need a break, ah!"
"Or you have it, or you don't!"

They should have made a pure Queen GH III instead. It became a mix of Queen, Queen+ and solo hits.

Why not do it like this in the first place ? :

- Queen GH III album (included more songs from MIH, Scandal, Thank God It's Christmas and Spread Your Wings)
- A seperate QUEEN+ Hits album (George Michael, Five, Elton John etc.)
- Solo Hits album

It seems like it was hastily put together under the Queen banner.. no logic song list.

I think they thought if it wasn't worthy to go on GH, or GHII first time around, it would be seen as "scraping the barrel".

Unfortunately, by plonking on solo hits, and that fucking Wyclef thing, they wound up making it look more like scraping the barrel, than they would have done by having tracks like Body Language, Back Chat, Spread Your Wings, Tie Your Mother Down, Love Of My Life (Live), and Scandal on there. (All of which made the UK singles charts!)

And yeah, they should bang the GH albums out on glorious colour vinyl (red for GH, and midnight blue for GHII), and make the first GH album a double, including at least the three bona fida UK chart hits that were left off first time around.

This release was cut at 1/2 speed by Miles Showell at Metropolis Mastering. Showell also did the cut for the 2015 Studio Collection at Abbey Road Studios, 1/2 speed.

Ooh cool a vinyl thread.

I owned all queen vinyls up to The Works the first time around and then switched to CD. I've recently got back into Vinyl and picked up a few Queen 12"s including an etched version of Scandal and will be picking up The Studio Collection on release.

I do t want to derail this thread but is there anyone who can answer a question of whether my setup is getting the best sound I can from my vinyl either on this thread or by PM? Your advice would be very very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
