For some reason, when Brian posted on her birthday a few weeks ago I thought that was a bit odd - like, maybe, it was slightly surprising she'd managed to make it to this birthday, and maybe there was a specific reason for that. Indeed there seems to have been one.

Commiserations to those who knew and loved her, especially her daughter, son-in-law and (I assume) grandchildren.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

RIP Jer. Thank you for giving us such a talented singer - your son. Now you are back together, again. Condolences to the family, especially to Kash and her family. <3

This is really sad. She lived so long after her beloved son and husband died.

Also yeah, it was easy to find her house, it's barely 3 miles from my house. You sort of wonder when she wandered down to the local off-license for a loaf of bread whether the guy behind the counter had any idea who she was.

She seemed like a lovely old lady and as others have said, she was so proud of her son.

Found a ten year old interview with Jer, some nice stories there, thought I'd share it :)
Rest in peace.

I just read Brian's message this morning and got all choked up. She did a fabulous job raising her son, and she was so very proud of him too. She seemed like such a lovely lady.

Freddie was lucky to have her as his mum.

RIP, Jer.

No longer active here, I felt compelled to pop in for Jer. I really liked this woman. Every interview and appearance she gave made me smile. Like Freddie, she spoke her mind and some of her quotes were so Freddie. There was one interview where she was sadly recalling memories of her son and then swiftly displays a mischievous smile and boasts how Freddie's image projected at the London Olympics received more applause than John Lennon's. So Freddie-like. I shall miss looking forward to hearing more from her.

A few years back when the Freddie picture book came out, there was a contest of sorts to raise money for the MPT. The top 10 donators would receive a Jer Bulsara signed picture book. Jer had given an interview (might have been the same one as the Lennon comment) where she was rather sad, but fiercely proud, while going through the book and reminiscing. I really felt for her, and I remember thinking how disappointed she'd be if there weren't a lot of donations so I took a chunk of the money I had set aside for other charities and gave it to MPT. I was both amazed that my donation came in at #10 and sad that the modest amount scored me that book. But when that book arrived, I was taken aback at how happy I was to see the childlike Jer signature. I felt like I had something special....just like Jer and the son she bore.
