It is on my top 2 list of Queen albums, the other is Queen II. I also think the cover artwork is their best on these two albums. Albums with balls and attitude. Epic and hard rocking.

Love this album too; it's my favorite! Strangely enough All Dead, All Dead is my favorite Queen song although if anyone that isn't a dedicated Queen fan has heard it they'd be hard pressed to believe it's Queen. The tutorial in the link below shows the painstaking work Brian put into making the "sound" he achieved in the middle of the song. And the piano is beautiful although I'm not sure if was played by Brian or Freddie (I'd guess Brian though).

It was my first Queen album back in early 1978 and turned me into a fan.

It belongs to my top 4 Queen albums of all time.

Queen II
Sheer Heart Attack
A Day At The Races
News Of The World.

They are all in the #1 spot for me and I cannot rank one over the other.

I LOVE Get Down Make Love, btw.

NOTW is in the top 6 for me, a very good album. I would keep Get Down Make Love. Not one of my favorites, but still a kick ass track.

It was Queen's worst album at that point in time. Sure there are some great songs but too many duffers which should not grace a Queen album. For example Sheer heart attack was not deemed good enough for the album of the same name.
Also the production sounds rushed and the track listing does not flow. The one thing it does have going for it is that it is better than Jazz but that's not saying much.

That's not strictly true. They only wanted one track of that style on the album and felt Stone Cold Crazy was a stronger song.

Sheer Heart Attack is one of my favorite hard-rockers from Queen. As far as it being their "worst up to that point" in their career, I just don't see it that way. Personally, I prefer it to A Night At The Opera. Sure, it was their biggest departure from their established sound up to that point but most of the songs on it would probably fall into my Top 50 Queen tracks.

True, although I think if they wanted it, they would have finished it.
