John Deacon Mentioned in Two Interviews

Serious discussion about the band known as QUEEN.

John Deacon Mentioned in Two Interviews

Postby Basser » Sun Jun 18, 2017 3:26 pm

I think the Deacy mega-fans might be interested in the following two interviews, which I haven't seen discussed on the forums before.

In the first interview on the Pods and Sods podcast, Extreme bassist Pat Badger talks about meeting John Deacon and the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert (at 29 minutes in to the interview): https://podsodcast.com/2016/09/13/em34/

In the second interview, bassist Tony Franklin, probably best known for his work with The Firm and Whitesnake (who I know is also a big John Deacon fan), tells a story about meeting John Deacon. It's part of a thorough bass teaching/mentoring package with Tony that costs $57. Unfortunately, I haven't listened to this interview yet, as I can't spare the money at the moment. But, assuming the interview description is accurate, I'm sure it will be of interest to Deacy fans. I'd certainly love to know where/when he met John. Here's the link (the interview description is near the bottom of the page): https://pmaproducts.net/recording-bass- ... -franklin/

The British people voted John Deacon 2nd for supergroup bassist.

Roger Taylor #2 drummer, Freddie Mercury #2 vocalist and Brian May #1 guitarist.

Magnificent! Thanks!
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.
