It's the worst Queen album by a country mile. At least 'A Kind of Magic' has 'Who Wants to Live Forever'.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger did not compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

Yes it is. They built it up massively in 84 as a triumphant return but it really wasn't. Queen had entered MOR pop rock. It was a cracking tour though

AKOM needs sorting out. I think its all in there its just a really messy affair.

action wrote:the works is their rockiest album since NOTW.

pure rock n roll songs:
machines: kick ass guitar crashing
tear it up: a rare example of a brian rock n roll lick
hammer to fall: a weaker track, but still very hard rock
i go crazy: more 70s hard rock
keep passing the open windows: a forerunner to "breakthru" with the galloping express train rhythm
man on the prowl: '50s elvis presley proto-rock

then we have the epic style power rock ballads:
let me in your heart again
is this the world we created
its a hard life
thank god it's christmass

contemporary pop tracks (rocked up in live setting):
radio gaga
i want to break free (single version)

without a question, this is one of the best Queen albums. Queen firmly stands on two legs with NOTW in the '70s and the fucking works in the '80s.
