Christ it's horrible! I didn't expect that, it's a modernist monstrosity and the decor is dreadful.

£3.5K for 7 nights. Ouch.

Much of that interior looks like it is the original from the 70s/80s, even the toilet looks like the original from when Freddie lived there.

I bet they kept it as original as possible. Amazing to think when you look through the windows, staring at the little house, that it is the actual house on the Made In Heaven cover. :!:

3500 for 7 nights? One night would be ok I think.
Pretty amazing view over the lake, and a beautiful garden.

I would rather stay there for 1 night and visit the Queen studio, than two weeks on the beach in Spain. It would be a cultural and meaningful holiday.

From my memory I think even David Bowie visit the house in 1982 when they did Under Pressure.

Might be wrong, but I don't think that was ever "Freddie's house". It's famous to "us" because it's on the MIH album cover.

He used to go there occasionally because it was relatively remote, and he liked to feed the ducks, but the place he was in the process of buying was a top floor flat in a building further down the lake, between Montreux and Chateau Chillon.

Of course, if someone actually wants to spend a week sleeping in the Duck House, and not the property that it's joined to, I'm sure no-one will argue, especially if you're the one handing over four thousand Swiss Francs.

PS. There's a photo on the Internet of Freddie in full stage gear, stood in front of the Duck House. Photoshopped? Nah, surely not. Freddie wore his stage gear absolutely EVERYWHERE, even in the bath, where he'd lay with an Ovation 12-string writing the occasional rockabilly ditty.

But forgot how to learn.

I love it. Sure, it could use some updating, but that is just so cozy inside. Outside, well what can ya say. Breathtaking view.

Makes you wonder what the inside of garden lodge looks like now. Has Mary redecorated or has she been living in a shrine for 20 odd years?
Each morning I get up and die a little....
Our lives dictated by tradition, superstition, false religion
I feel like no one ever told the truth to me.
About growing up and what a struggle it would be....

For 8 people. That comes to around 80 Eur per person per night. The price of a night at a three or four star hotel. It's not unreasonable.
