Hammersmith '75 question

Postby Princess of Taylor » Fri May 28, 2010 12:11 am

I've been searching for the answer to this question and I just can't seem to find it so I figured I'd ask here.

When the BBC aired the Hammersmith '75 Christmas concert in November/December of last year, I remember seeing that they had omitted a few songs from the broadcast. What songs were omitted?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

This thread, from the old board, should help:

Still think that's a bloody good gig, that one.

I just wish they'd put out something decent from the phase where they did Prophet's Song, White Man and all these great vocal or guitar live epics. You look back on what's out there, and you might be mistaken to think Brighton Rock was it, for that sort of stuff.

Thanks WeeMann! I knew I'd seen threads on it but for the life of me wasn't coming up with search terms that were working!

I feel that way about most of what Queen does though. They seem so content to just keep releasing different products containing the same 20-30 songs. The Hammersmith setlist is awesome and there are so many other shows with comparable setlists that never seen to get any notice. It's a shame.

The thing is, that you can fairly easily get good quality versions of Rainbow 74 and Hammersmith 75.

However, I think good quality copies of the stuff in the middle from 76 through to 79, is a bit harder, though we know it exists in good quality.
