When We Will Get The Live Albums Remasters?

Talk about Queen's live performances.

When We Will Get The Live Albums Remasters?

Postby DREAMASTER » Wed Feb 27, 2013 3:35 pm

I mean, we are already in 2013 and there's no News about when the Live albums remasters are going to get re-released.

So what's going on? Where they deleted for good?

Wembley and Budapest are already out. Rainbow will be likely later on this year.

Other than that...probably not for a while.

wembley is out already (albeit in a dvd/cd combo package)

Live Magic will most likely never be re-released

Montreal? who knows, but if it is re-released, there's nothing they can do to improve the sound imo. it will be exactly the same, but with a different record company's logo

Milton Keynes? again, who knows... I suppose Universal would like to put it out, but if they do, it will probably be like the wembley package. now; it would be nice to throw some extras in there, whatever they have of Japan 82 for instance?

Live Killers: the big question. I don't think a remixed version is what will be released, but rather an expanded package of some sorts. fingers crossed anyway

Re-releasing Live Killers would be pretty pointless unless they added the four missing tracks that were played on that tour (and preferably got rid of the annoying bleeps at the start of Death On Two Legs...)

Live Magic was made redundant after Wembley got released in '92 anyway - although I wouldn't say no to a Live Magic At Knebworth one day if it was the complete show.

Not sure, but legally they may not be able to remove the bleeps at the start being as the words are directed towards the Sheffield's.

Isn't that a bit like saying Montreal got made redundant by Milton Keynes?

But fairdos, there REALLY isn't any point reissuing Live Magic. Budapest complete is out there, Wembley complete is out there, so if you're going to have 3/4 of an album from Knebworth out there, it might just as well be the whole gig.

Can they please release the Live At Knebworth 86 CD (and double vinyl), I think this would sell quite well. It would indeed be an excellent replacement for Live Magic!

Oh and a 1979 Live Killers multi-disc boxset to replace Live Killers is another at the top of my official release Wants list :-D
Hot Space is actually only my 6th favourite Queen album.
(But is a very underrated album in my opinion).

Think this was the plan re Knebworth before that farce last year!

WOuld still hope that it will be the first of the live releases. I think it is ready to go - just needs issuing!

So was this actually remastered in some way over the previous release? I never actually found out for sure.

Not really - different tours, different set lists. Apart from throwing in the odd snippet of a cover, the set never varied on the Magic Tour. As much as I'd like Knebworth in full, it would be low down on my wish list of live gigs I'd want released.

Not as far as I'm aware, and I was talking to the man what would have done it. Same as the Q+PR stuff Island issued. It's exactly the same state as the Parlophone releases.

I know what you're saying, but from their aspect, if something's ready to roll out, it gives it an advantage over something that isn't, and Knebworth was made ready to go.

I've got to say, normally I get some sort of vibe from my contacts when something's happening.

Absolutely f*ck all over the past couple of months. Zero!

Thanks. I was confused as the thread title was about remastered releases.

Technically, it IS a remaster, both in the sense that it was remastered around the same time the DVD first came out, and that the actual mastering of the pressing plates will be fresh, as it's on a different label.

Remastered, as we understand it, where someone goes into it and alters the sound on the disc, no.
