When I look at Queen concert footage, I sometimes wonder who are these fans in the crowd ?

Maybe some of them are chatting on this message board, or maybe not.. ? :|

Anyway, here is one of those epic crowd moments. A footage of the last Queen concert, Knebworth 1986, during We Are The Champions..

Were any of you guys in this photo ?

Or were you one of these very happy fans in this footage? Rock Montreal 1981, Canada. :-D

Anyone who was part of a Queen video, could be very proud I think. :)

I was at Knebworth, but not likely to be in any of the footage I've seen.

With the Milton Keynes On Fire At The Bowl DVD, I think I'm fairly easy to spot on that one, like on the intro screens. Cheers Tyne Tees cameramen for that one!

By the way, don't know where your photos are, but I can't see them.

Am I mad or didn't they somehow track down/talk to the girl with the camera at Montreal? Sure I saw an interview somewhere, maybe it was a feature on this very website.

yes they did track her down.
Its on the main site.

I was 10 feet from the catwalk end at Sheffield when David Mallet shot it for the QPR dvd and I wasn't on that .
I was in Brussels in 84 when they shot HTF and I wasn't on that
I was on the pitch on Saturday night at Wembley in 86 and Live Aid 85 and the Fred tribute in 92 and wasn't on any of them .

The moral of the story therefore is if you don't want to get noticed follow me....

Kewl! :D Did you stand close to the guy who was smashing a big, yellow plastic can in his hands during the opening riff of The Hero ?

No, thankfully I don't think I was anywhere close to him.

What do I remember about Milton Keynes? Firstly that the sound wasn't as brilliant as it is on the DVD, and secondly, on leaving the place, I noticed a fucking huge amount of steam coming from someone's car, thinking "Poor bastard!", only to find out from the other drivers around me, that it was my own car producing it. Weird thing was, was that my temperature gauge was fairly normal, and on checking, my coolant levels were fine.

Knebworth? About five minutes after the gig finished, they turned most of the lights off, and there was about 150,000 people trying to get out of a dark field through narrow exits, all at about the same time. Apparently, that's been par for the course at Knebworth since the year dot.

Maybe not so important, but I was always curious about
what kind of liquid was inside that big bottle that the guy had. Did you ever see one of those for sale in the 80s ? Perhaps a UK speciality? Beer, or other kind of alcohol ?

Maybe orange juice ?

Hmm.. To me it seems like the thermostat in the coolant system of your car was broken or malfunctioning, and not opening enough. The result is hot water, and as hot water and steam expands inside the coolant system, the levels may seem fine too if checked when warm. Your gauge may also have been wrong, not detecting the high temperature.

Did you get your car checked or repaired afterwards ?

Maybe the intention was to make the people at Knebworth leave the area.. the party is over; now go home..

they were on sale in the 70's and 80's and available at 'homebrew' shops. You don't see so many of them nowadays
Generally beer or cider kegs. Usually a beige colour ,screw cap, with a spurious logo on the front.
takeout beer was a lot less prevalent back then.

It is awesome to chat with someone who were at any of the filmed concerts. In a way, people being a part of a Queen concert are like people that are a part of a classic movie. Sort of like actors, even though you were only watching.

Actors are a bit like mercenaries though.

Not many people at Queen gigs were being paid to be there.

Like many on this forum i attended quite a few Queen shows that were filmed, but i've never seen myself on the tapes, which is not surprising, especially in the 80s when the venue's became a lot bigger.
I do remember my first show at Bingley Hall Stafford, ticket price - £3.50, which was a quarter of my weekly wage at that time.

If you pause Brian's Brixton show at precisely the right moment you can see the back of my raised fist - it's during the intro to Last Horizon.
