Really? I have Rio on DVD and I don't remember it looking like this anywhere -

I guess it's possible that the stage was just very very deep, but this is my overwhelming memory of Rio.

Maybe I need to watch it again.


In this photo (Queenohotos files) there is nothing lighting the upstage area. Also you can make out in the darkness the vertical tower, so this photo is not from Rio anyway!

OK, I take it all back. Cogs and everything.
But wow, how bad does Rio look?
At least Wembley had lots of daylight and then seemed to be lit much better for video in the evening.
