Adam has a good pop voice, but not a voice cut out for rock IMO.

Not so long ago Yahoo's music blogger had to shut down comments on an article about Adam she wrote, because people were posting hate speech and pretty much wishing death on him. Most fans avoid the comments sections because it makes us despair for humanity.

As for Adam's fans, we have a reputation for being pretty rabid, and a tiny minority gives the rest of us a bad name.

I have found that most Adam fans are also Queen fans and lots of us are sharing what we know and recommending music and vids to each other. I think I'm a bit of an exception in how little I knew Queen.

This is an article that talks about the situation on the Yahoo article. It was bad enough that GLAAD intervened:

medusa, it's out there, all the hate towards Adam. I've seen plenty in last couple of weeks alone.

yeh leave it there in a corner for those who want it
but why does he go all out THEATRICAL HIDEOSNESS when he sings queen?
What is he trying to do, it seems like he is doing it on purpose, he is, he is doing it on purpose, because he doesnt sing like that for his "pop' or anything else.!
he is doing it and he knows what he is doing
he is trying to destroy queen and make it a laughing stock

I like his voice, just not for Brian and Roger. Freddie had a great pop voice too, but as we all know he could rock with the best of them. Adam can't from what I have seen.

I have a website where I track the crazy behavior of the American Idol fans, like the time the Lambert fans tried to raise enough money to buy him a Lamborghini for his birthday, and I've been watching the Lambert fans amusing reactions to the news he's joined up for a few gigs with Brian and Roger.

The other issue of having Madam, err, Adam Lambert added into the mix with the leftover Queens is that Adam has one of the most well known insane fan bases on the planet. I think Queen fans are going to be in for a rude shock when they encounter the Sparkle Cow Brigade pushing, shoving, stomping toes, kicking insteps and shouting out about how Queen fans are homophobic (which they've already been saying on their board, gimme a break!) on the way to the front of the stage.

When Brian May looks down and sees this glittery sea of fugly right in front of him it will be the best revenge yet for him continuing to use the Queen branding.

Freddie said back in 1978 that if anyone of them left that Queen would be effectively ended. Why can't Brian accept that and rebrand as something else? Is he that desperate for mooah? Did his Star Wars toy collection get out of hand? What, why, because I just do not understand it at all...

Great post
No Queen fan can stand for this trash
this is going too far, all queen fans must protest this awful drag queen like noise, it is the pits, the worst possible thing queen could have ever chosen to do, words cant describe how low a blow this utter crap is.

and thanks for linking to my first

A shame that you can't recognise a troll when you see one, this one is well known to most Adam fans, I doubt very much he/she is a genuine Queen fan.

I will not post it as #1 it is that bad, I don't want to risk possible trouble for myself if I link to it, it's really that hateful, bigoted really. You do say, you can't find anything negative about Adam, yet you are doing it yourself.

Medusa, it's quite clear that nothing Adam or anyone else says or does is going to change your mind. The thing is it's a done deal, it's happening and no amount of foot stamping and hysteria from you is going to change it.
In fact a lot of people are looking forward to it and many are spending their savings to come to the UK to see it.
Simple solution for you, take your Queen recordings and lock yourself into your room until it's all over. No one is forcing you to buy a ticket and no one is forcing you to watch.

I have a question, if someone who knows could help me. From what I've researched, the 1986 Knebworth setlist was 29 songs and lasted nearly two hours. As best I could tell the sets with Paul Rodgers were similar in length. But a festival is different, correct? From last year's headliners I think the setlists were about 15 songs, so about an hour.

And I wonder if they will do the same setlist in Moscow as at Knebworth. Different audiences, right? Moscow would be all Queen fans vs. a mixed crowd at Sonisphere. Damn, I wish I could go to both...

My thoughts today were that maybe Queen want to return to a more heavier band. The statement that the show at the festival will not be a "Freddie show" may hint at that. Even though Freddie was able to write some heavy stuff like "Princes of the Universe" or the guitar riff in "Bohemian Rhapsody", he was more the romantic song-writer. Even though I am not particularly believing they will perform songs like "Dead on Time", I somehow predict a setlist that might be close to the 'Queen Rocks' tracklist.
